    Hi,
I am looking into the Kenwood DMX1057XR for my 2014 Tundra and I love it. A friend told me about the Boss BE10ACP. The main differences I see are that the Boss unit only has wired CarPlay, no HD tuner and the screen resolution is 480p.

The cost difference is $800 between the two units. Have any of you installed the Boss BE10ACP? I would like to know if the extra $800 is really worth it. ty!

    Kenwood DMX1057XR - $1,250

    Boss BE10ACP - $370

    Wired CarPlay
    No HD Tuner

    I wouldn't touch the boss with a 10' stick.

Boss is not even on the same level as the Kenwood.

You’re comparing a literal turd with a piece of filet mignon

How is the Boss compared to the stock unit in your opinion?

I am happy with the stock sound. If the Boss is as good stock but with the bigger screen and CarPlay I would be happy. I already ordered the Kenwood unit but would be happy to return it if the Boss unit compares in sound with the stock radio.

Last year I spent a week upgrading the sound system to my son's Jeep Wrangler. New everything, sound deadening mats everywhere, new speakers and subwoofer, new amp, new radio. I don't want to go through the same with my Tundra at this time.

Thank you for your knowledge and for taking from your time to respond! :)

You get what you pay for when it comes to electronics. Quality boards, processors, HD capacitive touch screens, and QC come at a cost. That’s what you’re getting with the Kenwood. The Boss is cheap all around. I wouldn’t waste time and money on it.

I was confusing Boss with Bose! :) I just finally realized it when I was driving my Buick Enclave that has a Bose audio system.

I am thinking, Bose is a pretty good brand, I have own several of their speakers, etc... and always had a good experience.

Thank you all for hanging in there with me! Case closed! :)
