Mother Of God, Does Anyone Like This Front End

Nobody can say when you look at the front end of the Tundra it doesn't show an aggressive toughness about it that the F-150 seems to never have and the Chevy and Ram make an honest attempt at. When you remove the chrome it only becomes more tough and steroided-up looking. Sweet Mother-of-God I can only hope the 2022 renderings are way off cause like the Ridgeline is the little sister of the truck market this new Tundra will be the adopted-redhead-sissy-laughing stock of the truck world. I'm completely at a loss over the wimpyness look of this truck. Give it a Quad-Turbo Hybrid 1200 HP engine and it will still be an embarrassment to drive. Come on Toyota, grab a bunch of construction working hunters for your new panel before its to late. Maybe that's the reason for the delay, they showed the Superbowl commercial to a bunch of beer drinking actual men customer base and the laughter made them head back to San Antonio with their tails between their legs.

People are photoshopping a 4Runner front end on the current gen Tundra. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some similar design elements, but I wouldn’t trust any of the renderings out there. Especially from the shithole clickbait sites they all seem to originate from.

The new Tundra looks like it has the F-150 Head Lights.

Agree OP, I don't think they should mess with the look very much. But Toyota stands alone when it comes to making ugly vehicles, the Tundra has been an exception. I don't care for the current Tacoma nose and the 4Runner looks even worse. And of course take any Lexus, they are the ugliest vehicles in the world.

I'm going to have to disagree with you a bit there. The Mercedes sedans from the 90s were the fugliest cars I have ever seen with there toilet colored paint jobs and hideous body shape looked like something that floated to the top. My grandpa would tell me you have to be rich to afford ugly.

The front end of the 2nd generation Tundra got uglier as it aged, so I am fairly confident the front end of the new 3rd generation Tundra will be ugly as hell when it is released next year.

All new trucks are ugly for the first few months, then we get used to them, then we spend money to change them anyways.

Remember all the interweb renders for the Cybertruck?

They were all wrong. Really wrong.

I can't believe they have created a 4th Gen Tundra section...They should really combine 2-3 since they are the same and make a new sub for the actual 3rd gen Tundra which hasn't come out yet.

Exactly. It would be so easy—not to mention actually correct—to divide the forums up differently. Just call the 3rd Gen section 2.5 Gen or 2nd Gen refresh. Leave the years under the forum subheadings the same. Change 3rd to 2.5 Gen in the marketplace, too. Maybe even change a few thread titles... “What did you do in your 2.5 Gen Tundra today?”

Doing this would clear up so much confusion.

Remember that 1st Gen is the XK30 platform, in production 2000-2006.
2nd Gen is XK50, which started in 2007 and is still being made. A mid-Gen facelift is not a new generation.

The 5th Gen 4Runner, which received a facelift the same year, never fell prey to this error; why did the 2nd gen Tundra? Is it because it was longer in the tooth at the time and 2014+ guys want their trucks to stand apart from the earlier 2nd gens?

I didn't realize this had been beat to death. I spend most of my time in the 1st gen section. I was just shocked when I saw they made a "4th gen" section. It doesn't make any sense.

Dejavu, this is the question each time they’ve changed it. Tbh I hated the look of the second gen for a long time at first then I got used to it, and then the 3rd gen I really like, this 4th gen stuff I’m really looking forward to

I do not like the current front end as much because of all of the fake chrome.

I do like my first GEN front end. But it also reminds me of a 1997 F150 I had LOL

Having owned a first, second and third gen I can say that I prefer the 3rd Gen as long as the chrome is removed. (I have not done this yet.) My second choice is the 2nd Gen. I did not care for the 1st Gen. The nose was too weak. Had a full bull bar on our 1st Gen and that made it much better, but without it... not so much.
