Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a lasting solution?
My driver's seat trim at the seat back hinge has been falling off since I bought the truck 16 years ago. I drilled a small hole and ziptied the two pieces together, but the main issue is it won't stay clipped to the seat frame. When you sit in the seat, it presses down on the trim and dislodges it.

Also Jealous of the adjustable lumbar support. I've always joked that my Limited meant limited options. No keyless, No power passenger seat, hell until recently I didn't even realize many of the Limited's came with cloth! Now I know it also didn't come with adjustable lumbar support. Maybe it wasn't available in 2000.

Honestly, I would try to source those parts from a junkyard. Maybe replace the entire seat if you can find one the same color.

Hmmmm, wasn't expecting an even more extreme repair solution. Thought the giant lag bolts would keep that title. Junkyard Tundra's are hard to come by around here. Scoring a Tundra seat in better condition than mine would be like capturing a unicorn with hen's teeth. The issue is the flimsy plastic friction clip used to secure the trim to the seat frame. The seat is fine, albeit worn with time and sun fade. The trim is in decent shape. It just won't stick.

Slap a new plastic christmas tree at the front and add about 12 feet of 3M VHB tape and you should be set.

I had to do the same with my father's '98 Acura RL, I used measured lengths of 1/2 CPVC pipe as internal spacers.

Hadn't noticed that the front clip was removable. Upon further inspection. it is. Dug through my bin of many friction tabs and found one really close. Fits in there nicely. We'll see how it holds up.

Amazon score. Those little tabs always break when disassembling doors and dashes and outside trim bits. This little bin of friction tabs has been great. Came with a set of panel tools as well. In the $15 neighborhood if I remember right.

    None yet.
My new to me 2006 Limited DC came with cloth but previous owner installed some cheap leather that already needs replacing on the driver's seat. I do have the lumbar support and power seat on the driver side at least. It certainly has limited options/features compared to the same year Toyota Avalon. But it is a truck after all.

Grandpa is no mangler. Thats just how you fix something once.

drilled and tapped his wheel key, then ground down a piece of all thread so you dont have to fish for it.

One of the first things I fixed when we got the rig, drove me crazy.
I removed the inner piece of plastic trim, my jeans were always catching on it anyway.
I drilled a hole through the plastic molding on the inside and on the metal tab. Grabbed a thick HD zip ty and pulled it toight.
    Been happy since.

Upgrade to a Sequoia driver's seat...same deal. Put a power one in my 2000 with cloth bucket...and it goes further back just enough to not cramp my hinky left knee...because of that weird floor pan plateau on the driver's floorboard.
