I want to order the TRD Exhaust system but I had a couple of questions prior to install. Can I install the system with my TRD swaybar in place or do I have to take it off? And is it necessary to buy a new hanger for the old one (2014)? What say you about your experiences?

the instructions for the trd sway bar recommend that the dual exhaust be installed first:

    https://cad.external.toyota.com/ArorImages/InstallInstructions/DIO/7E16BC04623EFC4688257D3A0055AA5D_Tundra Rear Sway Bar_I Sheet_ Rev C.pdf

I recently installed the trd dual exhaust and, from looking at the sway bar instructions, it looks like you could just remove the sway bar links so that you have room to install the exhaust hangers.

for the dual exhaust, the kit comes with everything that you need (so, you do not need to buy a new hanger). you will need the following part numbers:
    • PTR03-34101
    • PTR03-34106
you can read my installation experience here:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/trd-dual-exhaust-detailed-installation.11546/

    good luck :)

Thanks Netmonkey. I as far as the hanger goes, I was talking about the old one. I have heard that a new one is needed to replace the existing one or it may hang lower than the new one. just wondering what people's experiences have been with this and if they have been able to put in the exhaust without taking the sway bar apart.

So you had no issues sliding the mufflers through and putting the hanger on with the sway bar on?

Nope had to do a bit of wiggling for the left tail pipe but it went right in. If you get the truck on a lift you shouldn't have any problems
Just make sure you spray the rubber hangers with wd-40 or something helps slide the pipes on them

I see. yes, the passenger side pipe does hang lower than the drivers side pipe by about 1/2". a new hanger might resolve that. the hanger kit is cheap enough if you want to try that.

All trd systems will hang a little lower on one side if you don't adjust it.

Just push up on the low side and tighten. Then pull down on the high side and tighten.

And check out Www.dirtydeedsindustries.com for a trd replacement that uses an x pipe so you don't get drone but still uses trd tailpipes for that great look. It's called trd rep in dual systems.

Thanks for the advice guys. I ordered the system just now. I hope it makes a positive and noticeable performance difference, because I'm gonna have to work some overtime now. Thanks again guys I have a friend with a lift and I will get a new hanger just in case. I can always take it back if I don't need it.
