Trifold Vs Rollup

So I'm selling my cap to get a soft cover...

I like the cap but I can't take on and off by myself so I'm going to move on...

My big dilemma now is should I get a

Rollup???

I'm probably going to go with the Tyger, the reviews both here and on Amazon seem to overwhelmingly good especially when the price is considered... but which one!!!!

To Roll or Fold... That is the question... What do you guys think?

 

Fold. Roll ups suck if you actually use your bed. There is no in between wirh a roll up. It’s either fully down and locked in or rolled all the way up. You can stick a couple boards out the back on the tailgate by just flipping a section up. The other parts remain locked in and still cover the bed.

I had to learn it the hard way. Haha. Went back to a trifold and I’ll never have anything else. Only other cover I would consider is a retractable cover. But those are vastly more expensive.

 

I definitely recommend the Tyger brand. I have both the roll up cover and their side steps. Both are great quality and so much cheaper.
As far as roll up or tri fold. Personally I have never needed 1/2 or 2/3 of my bed covered, only use mine to keep water off the stuff in my bed. All or nothing works for me.

 

I went with a fold up kind. I was considering the roll up, but I was worried the tracks would get filled with debris and hang the thing up all the time. Good luck in your search!

 

I feel the opposite. Had a tri-fold before and didnt like it. Leaked some and lost space in the bed when I had to carry large items, if I remember it was probably 6-8 inches of lost space up by the cab.

Have a truxedo low pro that came with my truck- dry as a bone, easy to use, rolls all the way up.

 

Roll up. Have one and love it. rolls easily up to the front and doesnt take away any bed space. I need the bed open fully to load bikes and dirt bikes. And I also like to see out of the back window when the cover is rolled all the way up.

 

Have tri-fold on 6.5 bed so it taking up 1/3 on the bed is not that big of an issue and can have it totally off in a few minutes.

 

I have a tri fold and hate it - At the time I could not find a roll up cover so went with the folder, I dont like the fact that when I load my Quad I have to take the cover off the truck and leave it in the garage - If I had a roll up I just have to roll it up and I am good to go

 

I have the Tyger tri-fold and it's great. 3 years no leaks. Previously on my Ram, I had a roll-up for 6 years, can't remember the brand, but it wasn't Tyger. It leaked a few drops in heavy rain, but nothing that would do damage. I had to replace the velcro after about 4 years, very quick, easy, and cheap.

I preferred the functionality of the roll-up, and if Tyger had a roll-up 3 years ago, that is what I would have. I never had to take roll-up off when I wanted to hall large items, like beds and dressers when moving my kids. It just rolled right up against the cab and I had access to the entire bed. The Trifold has to come off when I move something large. Not a huge deal, but a little of a pain.
