I mean, I used to blame John Denver, but he only got all of you old-timers there.

That is why I made my statement about pre-legalization. Things were different back then. It changed everything.

    I got it obviously.

The year they legalized I was driving towards the Butte one morning on 135 and I saw what looked like a car on fire from a distance but as I got closer it became clear that it was just a Cheech and Chong movie reenactment in progress on the highway!

Evidently now when on a Ski Vacation you can be taken to a dis[ensary on the way to your lodging as part of a more complete vacation package deal.

    Crazy Potheads these days.

I travel the West quite a bit. At 48 yrs old I put down the golf clubs and started doing off-road motorcycling. In my first year, I camped about 30-40 nights mostly dispersed. That was more camping than my entire life combined!

Benchmark Map Books are a great thing to have. They clearly mark all the gravel roads. Gravel roads equal fun, and dispersed camping.

I'm laughing a bit when you're talking about how CB is a shit show and then hyping up 401, which isn't even a top 10 trail in CB except for the view and arguably the busiest trail in the area (even 10 years ago)

I spend a lot of time in CB and surrounding area…CB is very busy but there are still some nice secluded and tucked away spots if you are willing to work for it :p One of the best spots is that one off of *redacted* road just south of the *removed* trail. ;)

But yes, it’s way too stinking busy around here…we go north and out of state when we want to truly avoid people haha

EDIT: And with all the crazy influx of people, the forest has begun getting super tight with dispersed camping. Which is definitely disappointing:(

Well I'm glad at least you have some discretion!! haha Influencers are truly ruining the outdoors among other things. Honestly I just avoid slate, the main irwin area, and washington gulch nowadays is the main thing. Everything else really isn't so bad.
