454205B8-E5AE-47AA-8DEC-6E068C2B464C_2.jpg I sold my Tacoma to upgrade to a used Tundra - preferably a 2014-2015 that already has aftermarket lift/tires etc. I have been looking at several websites for trucks, all of which have been out of State, so I can't just drive in and look at them.

I recently found one (2014) I'm interested in and inquired about the lift, asking who made it and the size. They responded by saying it was a Toyota 4", Factory lift and factory dual exhaust. I had never heard of the factory lift and dual exhaust.

So my question: Does Toyota have an option for factory lift and dual exhaust? If so, does a 4" lift sound correct and can anybody tell me about the quality.

It is paired with 295/70R18 tires - which I believe are close to 33".

Could be TRD dual exhaust. Any pics of the coils they can send you? Truck looks sweet!

Toyota has a dual exhaust and it sounds great. It does rob your truck of a little hp and MPG. Factory lift? Never heard of it. But, 4" IMO, is about perfect.

Usually Toyota does a thing with Readylift probably what it is...looks like the 4" lift spacer lift stay away from its rough ride

Yea not a Toyota lift. Like @aramirez73 said it's most likely a spacer lift with stock shocks and Coilovers.

Not sure if I'm sneezing, or calling "Bull$h1t". Oh, wait, I do know.

"Factory" could mean the lift wasn't homemade, or maybe just dealer installed. Just another vehicle salesperson that doesn't know their facts.

Just a bit jellous of the undercarrriage of a '14 that still looks to be in showroom condition. Must be California, or Arizona, or the like?

Man don't do it. Years back I was uneducated on lifts and went the cheap route. Bought a spacer lift just like the one in the pics they sent you. I'm unsure what you know about them so please disregard if you already know this.

Spacer lifts go on stock coil over springs/shocks. It essentially squeezed the spring down, putting it under a pre-load. By doing this, the spring cannot compress much more under the weight of the truck, thus making it sit higher.

It's a great way to get the appearance you're looking for without costing a ton. However, you lose over 50% of your suspension travel which makes you feel like you're riding in a D10.

If you're ok with that and dont plan to go off road at all... go for it. But if you plan the use it, look elsewhere.

those uca's are so maxed out that i have trouble believing the truck aligns properly. i like a nice looking truck as much as the next guy but i'm sure as hell not going to drive one that rides like a 1908 model t.

The only true Toyota factory lift would be Pro suspension, which is slightly less than 2" and smooth as silk.
The Pro also has the true dual exhaust. The rumor that this costs any hp or mpg is unproven.

Ask and see if they will reduce the price because you're going to have to replace that. Maybe they'll understand and give you a price break.

I don't want to create friction. I'm relaying something I read in a post by Keith Carty. If I can find it later I'll post it. I found it very informative and I believe everything I read on the internet. lol I actually do believe what Keith says. I think he really is trying to help us (Tundra owners) out.

Yep, I remember Keith's comment partly (not exactly), had to do with tube diameters, flow engineering and back pressure, I believe. But I don't think he confirmed that with dyno results, let us know when you find it

Like the others are saying, spacer lifts are junk. If you can get it for the right price, grab it and switch the lift out. FYI, the 295/70-18 you mentioned is close to a 35, not a 33". Good luck with all !

    Stock for now!!!
If the price is reasonable get it knowing you will spend a bit more getting a proper lift on it......I bought a 14 in January and had looked at the dealership lifted trucks.....the sales guy said they use a "local" shop with a good reputation.....don't doubt that but they all were spacer lifts but they were selling the truck marked up way too high for this cheap of a lift.......hum....sounds like that might have happened to the guy who owns the truck now......price out the lift you want...and the cost to get it installed.....offer him that much less and see what he says.....

So if spacers lift are not good, then what other manufacturers should I go with? I am getting a basic SR5 4WD, and gonna ask the factory to lift it for me to avoid the warranty issues.

Coil overs are, IMO, the best way to lift but limit you to roughly 3.5" in the front. At that point UCAs are a good idea.
