So I have a 18 Limited with TSS sensor. I am wanting to install a 2014-2017 TRD pro grille. I already installed the AJT bracket but still have my stock grille on. I wanted to see if I was going to get a bunch of error messages before I forked out the money on the grille. So I drove it and occasionally I get an error message for Pre collision malfunction clean sensor. But not very often. Does anybody know if it will go away once the TRD grille is installed? Because it kinda looks like the big emblem is blocking half of the sensor and the TRD grille looks more open so the sensir might be able to "see" better. Kinda hard to see but I took a picture.

The AJT relocation bracket didn’t work for me with the 14-17 pro grill. Got errors all the time. I switched to the Jomax relocation bracket and haven’t had a problem since.
I really think the thickness of the sensor cover is the problem with the ajt but some have said they do not have problems. It seems to be hit or miss

I went on Jomax website and don't see brackets anymore. Do you know where I can purchase one at?

Not sure unless you can find one on the used market; you can try emailing them to see if they will make another run

When did you buy it? Do you have a link where I can get one?

Anybody know why people have issues with the AJT one? It looks like a quality piece and fits very nicely. What's the thickness of the sensor cover on the Jomax one? I wonder if the cover on the AJT one is too thick?

I use the AJT with my 19. I installed a 19 TRD pro grill and bought a sensor cover from Amazon for $25 and haven’t had any problems. It’s been about 2 weeks.

I have a cement gray truck and don't think the 2019+ grille was available in cement.

I know you can't see it and it's minor but don't really want to modify grill or surround.

Yes but by the time you get all of the needed accessories to complete the conversion, it is close to $1100.

The 14-17 grill is a more affordable option with the relocation bracket.....you can try the AJT bracket. Some have had success using it.

Exactly. This is more than double the price of the 14-17 grill. Cement doesn't come from toyota in that color for the 19+ grill they paint it for you.

Yeah that's the route I plan on going but want to make sure I can get the tss sensor to work correctly with bracket before I pull the trigger.

I have that setup, 2018 Limited with 2014-2017 TRD Pro grill and AJT bracket. I have absolutely no issues and it's been on my truck over a year. Before the AJT bracket I had a homemade redneck bracket that worked fine as well, just wanted Adam's bracket because it was much better quality.

I'm not knocking the quality of the AJT bracket. It's very nice. But I occasionally get a message to clean sensor. Really want to make sure I can relocate it without errors before I spend the money on the grille. I was thinking about making a duplicate sensor cover out of a thinner polycarbonate plastic to see if that takes care of it. The cover is kinda thick I feel like.

Did you run the truck with the original grille and the sensor moved before putting the new grille on? I put the stock grille on just to make sure it was good before I go further.

I ordered a newer TRD grille centerpiece from MC Autoparts but was still on the fence about grabbing a paint matched older grill w/ AJT relocating bracket.

I have trouble making up my mind or which direction I want to go with…now kind of looking at the nightshade, too…haha

Still haven't heard from Jomax. Kinda annoying that AJT is selling something that seems to only work half the time. Also annoying that Jomax doesn't seem like they are making theirs anymore. It seems like theirs worked almost 100% of the time.

Thanks sharing the post John!… i’ve had several viewers do this now and not a single issue reported… Very easy to do and will work with any grille on the market… let me know if I can help!

I also have a 2019 Cement Tundra with 2017 pro grille and ajt relocation bracket. Most of the time it’s fine but I definitely get more “clean sensor” errors than I did on the stock grille.

    Just getting started...
I have the same issue on my '21 CM. I added the 14-17 TRD PRO grille and color matched surround with the AJT relocation bracket. I get intermitte23CBBAFA-8F36-4594-BD2B-780D830F54E2_1_201_a.jpg nt errors to clean the sensor. It seems to clear itself with no other intervention but it drives me and my OCD nuts. We've had some heavier rains in the PNW lately and heavy rain correlates to the sensor errors. I read someone else here had a machinist fly cut the face of the bracket to make it thinner. I think the radar doesn't like the material the cover is made from.

So at some point this summer, I'll take the grille off and either modify the face of the bracket to be thinner or make another face plate out of polycarbonate.

I do like this PRO grille!!
