It was an eerie feeling cutting into a brand new truck but it’s such a needed mod. Thanks all!

I want to do this but I’m scared. How idiot proof is using the stencil? What brand is the insert? Thanks

Very easy to do once you get over the cold sweats of cutting into a brand new truck; company is ESP. They’re great to deal with

ESP is the brand. I’ve never done anything like this before but I used a a box cutter to cut thru the carpet, then a drywall knife to cut thru the foam. Very easy. For push button start model, there will be wire exposed under the middle tray, just go slow. If you need pics, let me know.

That looks really clean, nice work:thumbsup:

I waiver between being annoyed at not enough storage space and not wanting to cut into my floor. If I can find a take off tonneau cover, I'd probably just do a box in the bed under that. But interior storage is lacking for sure.

I don't think I could bring myself to cut into a new truck, but that looks very nicely done.

how do you I think I feel? Trust me it’s all foam underneath except if yours has push button start, then there is wire under the middle tray.

I don't get it, I have a 2018 SR5 extended cab and that comes with storage under the rear seats that run the whole length from left to right with covers that lock , why does the crew cab not come with the same storage? Assuming you have a crew cab.

Kinda what I was wondering. Mine came with covered under seat storage bins. Guess it’s an option and not standard equipment.

I have a crew max cab "limited" and don't have under seat storage. Ridiculous I tell you.

Does your rear window roll all the way down? :boink:

Undersear Storage is an easy mod that we can add ourselves to the CM, at a a fraction of the cost Toyota would charge from the factory. We can choose to do it or not do it, on our dime. Many with dogs like the flat area under the seats for dog beds to lay on during road trips.

People say the same thing about: remote start, auto up/down windows, power start, tailgate auto lock, etc etc etc. It all adds up.

Great job OP! Now we just need to create a mod or aftermarket kit to quick-release rear seatbacks forward so we can store/grab tire irons, umbrellas, fishing poles, baseball bats, etc without the hassle it currently is.

Yea I'm in the same boat I just want to do storage under the big seat in the back and not the little one on the passenger side. I always have a car seat in the passenger rear so can't lift the seat up without removing it.

May just grab a template and cut the one out for the driver side and the one in the middle.
