Anybody out there have one of these on their Tundra? I just purchased a 2021 double cab and I'm specifically looking at the "Guardian" model with full mesh. It mentions on their site that the rack is "tapered" to more closely match the contour of the cab- that's what I'm after. Can anybody confirm this fitment? I've searched for pictures of a Tundra that has one of these mounted, but haven't come up with anything. I see that Aries makes one that tapers in to more closely follow the contour of the cab, but I don't particularly care for that style- not to mention that it says on the website that it's not designed for a load. Any info you guys may have would be greatly appreciated. And any other suggestions for racks that taper in as opposed to standing straight vertical, would be helpful. Thanks!

Westin, but I don't like the idea of holes in my truck so I used diy rails mounted in stake pocket holes with expandable rubber stake pocket anchoring points.IMG_20210603_111208.jpg

What did you end up with? I am looking for a low profile headache rack for my 2021 double cab.

Thanks, I think I am going to go with the Magnum EC rack. Nice simple powder coated black aluminum rack. Seems like the best bang for the buck aluminum rack out there which mounts in stake pockets.

Does anyone know if the Magnum EC style or hollow point truck racks extend high enough to not block the rear brake light? Have a pic you can share of your truck? If the rear light is blocked will it still pass state inspection (Virginia).

Maybe get one with lights, or add lights?

I ended up calling Magnum today and they said the standard height racks extend above the rear light so it is good. I bought the ‘EC rack’ as it’s the cheapest and looked durable enough for holding lumber and canoes. Really like the idea of all welded and aluminum powdercoated, vice steel.

still looking. it's slim pickings up by me in terms of what's available. and shipping costs a small fortune. if there's anybody in AK who has some input, that'd be much appreciated. i can find backrack brand headache racks in fairbanks, but would prefer something different if possible.

IDK, to me the backrack brand appears rather weak.

i had a backrack full mesh on my tacoma and it did what it's supposed to. relatively inexpensive, pretty heavy, etc.. i'm not big on aesthetics, but would like to try something different if i can. it's the $350+ in shipping that's the problem. not sure if there are any anchorage folks on the forum who know of other options down that way- i'm willing to make the drive if need be- still less $ in gas than what shipping would cost.

installed the rack today. highway products "guardian" full mesh model. it's 5 pieces (2 bedrail feet, 2 uprights, 1 center insert), powder coated 3/16" aluminum, rated for 750lbs. the installation calls for drilling but i ended up making it work w/out having to drill by a) using stake pocket anchors (made by magnum) and b) opposite the bed pockets, i used a couple of existing factory holes along the bedrail to pin down the feet (along w/ a couple other small modifications). feels nice and solid. went w/ the full coverage- as opposed to the one w/ the window opening- because i don't trust myself w/ any exposed glass during firewood season.IMG_0111.jpg IMG_0107.jpg IMG_0115.jpg IMG_0114.jpg IMG_0105.jpg.
