Got my new Morimoto XB with amber DRL from Headlight Revolution. Arrived a week before it was even supposed to ship! Install was a breeze and they fired right up! Definitely digging the amber DRL so much more than the standard LED.

I guess once I hit the 30 day member mark I’ll be listing my Alpharex Pro Halogen lights that I had for a month as well as my OEM lights off a 2021 Tundra.

Yeah I think the amber goes well with certain colors. I have the white on mine. I thought that all 3 projectors were supposed to be lit with the new version of the lights?

They are.. it’s just bright out so it doesn’t appear in the picture.

Here is another one taken an hour later.. my camera makes the passenger look brighter but it’s the same on both sides

Now I see it. I wish the original lit all 3. Its all good....I make up for it running 4 Rigid pods at the same time for fog lights. The Morimoto tails are supposed to be released this month.

I've been trying to decide if these are worth it. How well do they perform at night? My Tundra is a 2016 so I'm sure anything is better than the stock ones. Thanks and nice looking truck

I actually just made a quick run to the store. Only second time since install I have driven at night. It’s awesome and lit up the entire road. It is foggy out too from a passing rain storm and they made the road clear.

Of course when I first got going this evening I was thinking they were aimed wrong (even though they say these come aimed to spec) then realized I had the headlight motor level on the highest setting in the truck by accident lol. A quick change back to lowest and was no longer lighting up the roof of the cars in front of me.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll have to Google that thing called rain and fog, and thanks for helping me spend more money on my truck.

I found out about it in March I believe. Comes with either white or amber DLRs and are supposed to be brighter than the original.

I think they came out a few months ago. I bought Alpharex Pro’s and then saw the Morimoto gen2 with an amber DRL and the new use of all three projectors for low beam and decided to sell my Alpharex and splurge on them.

Brighter because they made the 3rd projector low beam as well. I have the originals but I make up for not having the 3rd low beam buy running 4 Rigid pods for fog lights.

A couple of months ago. I think the amber drl only looks good with certain color trucks.

I've had the gen 1s for a few months, maybe a year, and went from old cloudy stock headlights. Totally worth the money, high beams are insane, low beams have plenty of light. They look sweet too. The blinkers are bright enough to light up an intersection on their own. Not cheap, but Headlight Revolution was having a 20% off sale at one point so I was able to justify the expense.

Looks good except for that chrome grille surround and hood bulge..:eek2:
Perhaps consider a sliver grille surround and hood bulge, it would match the truck and the silver TRD Pro grille letters..
Even keeping the chrome bumper ends it would look nice..

But that chrome surround and hood bulge is too much....
    Just my 2¢..:D

Haha I 100% agree! I have the grille surround/hood bulge and bumper cap covers on order. I’m not a fan of chrome at all, but having to sit patient for those parts to arrive.

So I'm digging the amber .. how are the functionality of these? Do we have a choice of either amber or white? Is the white brighter? How does the switchback work when on amber.. just go to sequential?

I think I may upgrade as I'm still running the old prototypes from TRS.

The amber are bright, but I don’t think DRL really serve much purpose but you can see me coming 1/2 mile away now lol. The functionality in general is way better than my OEM halogens obviously. When you order you have a choice of either amber DRL or white DRL. The amber is slightly higher in price, but worth it at least to me. The videos I watched were at night and don’t really show comparison of white vs amber in terms of which one is brighter. My amber DRL blinks when turn signal is activated then goes back to solid. It doesn’t turn white at all. It has the option to be solid blink or sequential when using the turn signal.

I’m glad I upgraded for what it’s worth. I wish the lights would turn on when I unlock the truck at night like my wife’s Highlander does. It just blinks the yellow DRL when locking/unlocking. Maybe I can figure out a way to make that happen. I bought them during their Memorial Day sale and got $140 off and free shipping

I like the amber LED strips..

I don't know about the OEM remote start, but with my aftermarket Compustar remote start/alalrm, my amber DRLs and dim setting led strips stay lit on 2019 LED headlights after remote starting.
Just like if I had turned on the parking lights..
Might be something to look into..

BTW I wasn't trashing your truck with my anti-chrome comments.
After rereading it, I think I sounded kinda prickly.
Your truck looks great as is.
It is going look even better when you get your painted parts...

Good point on remote start.. I’m looking into it as we speak just hard to figure out what’s the easiest kit that uses existing fob without needing a lot of knowledge with electronics. I miss that feature so if it ends up turning the lights on then an added bonus!

ha! I didn’t take offense at all I enjoy all feedback. Just wanted to add that it’s already on order because I also think the chrome is just too much with the lights but gotta wait until July to receive my order unfortunately.

Choose as in @ purchase time, or choose as in I could swap back and forth via wiring (like sequential or just blinking)

Was thinking of getting these, I noticed before adding it to cart it gives me the option to add an “XB Adapter Harness?” Is this needed? I have a 2021 Limited.

Also wanna confirm they do work for the 2021. I know it says 14-20.

I believe you need the adapter IF you have factory LED headlights already. It will work on a 2021 as mine is a 2021 SR5 but I didn’t need the adapter since I didn’t have factory LED- I had halogen headlights as OEM.

What exactly does the adapter do?
