    I realize I’m necroing this thread a bit, and I’m not even a Tundra owner (an F150), but this original issue has nothing to do with the housing having leaks (air or the like). It is a very curious smoking that is sprayed to acrylic on the INSIDE of the unit (much like the crappy sprays you can apply yourself to the outside). For whatever reason these yahoos hit the inside of these early units to make it “a just right look”. We’ve never noticed because it is so faint. Well.. it just breaks down for a variety of reasons from elements. Anywho… I just fought this all myself as part of opening up the units (warranty expired though I called them to confirm my beliefs on what the hell this residue was). Looking at the OP’s pics… I’m 100% positive these had the same issue.
