Has anyone been able to contact DAP Tuning lately? I’ve been trying to call customer service for a few days now and have sent a few emails as well. No answer or response.

They stopped responding to me back in October of 2020. Spent all that money for shitty ass customer service. For the same price as a new tune I bought the HD Tuner and tuned some of the things myself - I don't have the performance tuning that they had, yet, but someday someone will post something up on how to do it with the HDT.

    That’s odd.

I recently purchased a tune from them, sent them my FPF file on the 6th and got my tune back within 3 hours.

Probably cuz you’re giving them new money. I needed their support, had their tune on my truck for 4 years, and was planning to throw money at them like a hard working college girl on a stripper pole but nope - they stopped responding to emails, even after trying for a couple months.

Even as a potential new customer when I tried calling/emailing/FB over the course of 3 weeks back in January I never received a reply on any channel of communication to this day.

For a few bucks more with some hurdles along the way I'm now OV Tuned and couldn't be happier.

Does anyone know if a DAP tune is any better than a BulkyDog tune?

Been waiting on a response/revised file for my SC truck for weeks now. It has trouble starting on warm starts and I need to get it resolved. He was pretty responsive during the majority of the tuning process but I think I may have fallen off his radar of importance since my tune is close to finished. New money opportunities coming in probably make it hard to go back to working on stuff that has been paid for a while. Doesn’t make the old work less important though IMO.

I agree. This is why I asked my question here..I sent him a message asking the same question (with elaboration) and no response. Sad way to run a business.

It is unfortunate, but I think he just needs some help and can’t find it. He does great work and is a super nice helpful guy…when you can get a hold of him. My truck runs great aside from the startup issue. He is a one man tuning shop so I know he is stretched thin. I knew that when i got him to do my tuning, but it’s still frustrating when you get no response.

He may need help, but that’s no excuse for not answering emails. I’m sure he’s not receiving an overload of email activity. Plus, I’m a potential customer going to the Tundra Crew Tennessee Takeover event where he will be there installing tines.

I know it’s hard to imagine having to try so hard to give someone your money. I’ve been told he receives 500 emails a day, tundras are only a fraction of what he does. Not making excuses for him, just saying that’s the reality unfortunately.

I hear ya, but if he was doing those kinds of numbers, he wouldn’t be a one man shop.I’m highly skeptical of it. Think I’m just going to move on. As you mentioned, if it’s this hard to get a reply for a sale, getting any support in the future will be impossible.

I am DAP tuned and bought my ARH exhaust from him. Needless to say I've spent a few thousand with him. He doesn't respond to me neither

Guys, I’m now tuning 07-21 Tundras with HPTuners. I have a network of tuners offering this across several states so let me know where you are and I’ll try to connect you with a tuner.

    here’s my truck for reference:

Do our trucks need a tune if we don't have any bolt-on engine mods done to it?

Absolutely! Tundra engines have good power that can come out of it. A good tuner can log the truck and can help it be more efficient which in turns increases both performance and longevity.

Does anyone know if there has been any updates to DAP tune? One of the tundra youtubers claimed toyota had updated their programming for the 2021
Tundra and supposedly drove much better.

How does your tuning network work exactly? Just wondering what role everyone plays in the process as far as yourself and the other tuners. Also, have you done any supercharged 5.7 tuning? Is it all street tuning? Allen Kish would me my local tuner as well. Could be looking for a tuner if I perform more upgrades to my Harrop supercharged truck in the future such as a larger intake and a regear. Bunch of questions there. Just happy to see more options emerging.

For any folks following this thread, I had a really good experience with Allen from Master Yoda tuning. He did a road tune using HP tuners with multiple runs for various tweaks. The truck is an absolute animal. Way better than my previous Bullydog and he made the drive to my house. The overall process took 2-3 hours. He also offers VF Tune but highly recommended HP Tuning. Feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions.

Glad to hear you had a positive experience! What octane did you tune for? Also curious, did your long tubes on an N/A tundra move the torque further up in the rev range?

The tune is not octane specific. Allan said it is octane adaptable but that he is running a premium fuel tune and it is available for the individuals who want it. As far as LTH, I really didn’t notice a difference between the LTH dual exhaust setup vs the stock setup. If I were to do it again I wouldn’t waste the money on it. The tune is far more noticeable then anything else I have done.
