Recovering Tacoma addict, decided to pull the trigger on a 2021 tundra for more space for the growing family. Struggled with waiting for the 2022 tundra but needed something now and didn’t want to go though the first year hiccups of the new generation.

Started with a few items, going to keep this build as simple and functional as possible. TC bed stiffeners, CBI overland bed bars (going to switch these out for something a little taller), bed liner, 12v outlet and trigger controller.

loves this truck, 3rd gen tacos are quirky but if you can get them dialed like this one was there great. Just not so great at the whole car seat situation.

Got the esp storage in. Always fun to cut open a new truck. Also was able to pick up some used clazzio seat covers for cheap.

Got everything installed today. Need to adjust the coil overs a little and it goes in for an alignment but overall pretty happy with it. Need to get some sliders on order ASAP so the wife has an easier time getting in.

I know you’re running the icon stuff, but did you upgrade to their rxt leaf pack or are you still on oem leaf springs?

I recognize that this is subjective, but how do you like the aal on the stock leaf pack with your added weight? I have no issues with the stock ride since the truck is usually empty, but I wonder how the ride quality changed for you since you’ve got the extra gear. Thanks man!

No complaints on it. I wanted to do the cheaper add a leaf option until I got the weight dialed and do a full leaf pack at that point. Current set up is good with it though, slight rake when unloaded, perfectly level when loaded. I did the add a leaf on my Tacoma and it was straight garbage the tundra add a leaf though is a solid option.

Missed the ride quality part. It’s definitely stiffer but I think the e rated tires contribute more to the stiffer ride. Hard to tell in that one.

Nice! I’ve been considering the progressive 3 leaf aal, in either the icon or toytec version. I wouldn’t mind a stiffer ride unloaded and I don’t think I’ll ever have too much daily weight, but I was thinking 1.5” would be a good lift height for the rear when I raise the front up 2” or so. I like the rake.

I’m glad you don’t think it’s junk. I’d definitely rather do a quality aal for 1-1.5” of lift and increased stiffness under weight vs a shackle, even though many on the forum seem to think the opposite.

I don’t know much about toytec but icon seems to be a popular favorite when it comes to leaf packs. I avoided shackles to fit a full size spare underneath. I’ve heard the beefier shackles can get in the way. Here’s a profile on the truck, I have a decked system in the back with just a few things in it. Still maintains a little rake.

Dig the bed outlet. Do you just use the Trigger to turn power to that outlet on/off? I went with a homebrew dual battery setup, but I like this, too. Your second battery is more readily portable than mine.

Yes used one of the 30a spots on the trigger for the outlet. Works good, I wanted to go dual battery but I already had the Jackery and it was a simple solution.

Swapped over to the Yakima outpost hd bars for a little more clearance in the decked system. The decked system is awesome, no more unloading the whole truck to get 1 thing in the back.

Next time bud. I’m in Carson a bit. I would have felt horrible. I’m gonna go mount them now and then try and muscle the tent alone.
