Mine has started to do it. I have to have it on the first click of the nozzle and with the handle angled towards the gas door. I may have to take it in.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
Notice the incline (if any) at the pumps.

If pumping on one side of the pumps gives trouble, then try pumping with the vehicle 180 degrees around the other side of pump.

I've noticed pumping with the inlet on the 'higher' side (of incline) leads to better/faster fueling. Just a though....

Hate to revive, but mine just started doing this as well. 2016. Crewmax. 38 gallon.

couldn’t get half a second at 3 different pumps today. She’s at the dealer now I’ll hear back tomorrow. 54k miles. Def no warranty. I also have a gas tank skid on there from rci and I know they’re gonna say something lol.

Crap. That sucks. When you would refuel prior to this, did you continue to top off after the 1st click when it was full? This seems to be the common theme when this happens.

    Bump an old thread:

My truck had the same issue, found this thread and decided to give warranty a try. Fell under the emission warranty and got my tank replaced!
Never got a straight answer as to what caused it. Caught a glimpse at the retail costs as was just over $2650 if I saw correctly.
    2016 5.7 SR5 with 38 gallon tank.

Hello everyone! I just experienced the same issue with my 2020. Tried multiple gas pumps at different locations… nothing. However, I used a 5 gallon jug to add some fuel manually (just to make it to the dealership), and when the diagnostic technician from Toyota tried fueling he didn’t encounter any problems. My skeptic personality didn’t want to believe them so I went picked up my truck and tried fueling again… and of course no more issue…..

So just from my personal experience, try manually fueling with a gasoline jug( 5-10 gallons), that may just be what you need to reset or solve whatever is causing the gas pump ordeal! Good luck.

    Too many mods to come
Roll over valve at the top of the tank/ bottom of the filler neck. This is on a single sided hinge and when the fuel moves in the tank it sometimes causes it to close the door. A new tank doesn't solve the problem since the its the same.
