Does a replacement cold intake really make a difference? What a acceleration ? I was just at dealer and saw a TRD cold air intake and was wondering is it worth it

Not worth it. You already have a cold air filter from stock.

Also watched a video guy had TRD dual exhaust. Does that make a difference as well? My truck is quiet and I like that but also like a little growl. I think it's real annoying when a vehicle is really loud but not really going anywhere .

not much performance difference on the TRD dual, maybe slight, but more for looks and sound I think. If you want performance, check out Dirty Deeds Industries, their BAMuffler is all the rage around here. I will be getting one eventually.

When you buy a truck gas mileage isn't something you think about . Having a 8 cyl you kind of expect it. My dodge Dakota I had had a 4.7 8cyl. with better gas mileage than this 4.6 tundra.

Would better gas mileage or better performance make you happier when you drive the truck?

I just looked today and looks like has 4 catalytic converters. 2 separate pipes before muffler tho after. Would that make an improvement going to dual? How is the TRD dual exhaust?

There's a Tundra in my family with a TRD exhaust and it's honestly obnoxious. This truck likes to keep the revs at 1000-1500 rpm and the TRD exhaust seems tuned to drown at that speed. I'd look elsewhere for a muffler, like BA Mufflers, if you're looking for more sound. Also, no modern car really gets a noticeable performance bump once you throw on a catback or CAI. This isn't the 70s...

For reference, my previous car was a WRX STI with a Tomei Ti catback, you can look up videos of how that generates 105dB at 4800rpm with an otherwise stock exhaust system if you're interested. That thing gave me headaches on road trips, and I still found the TRD exhaust to be uncomfortable on the Tundra lol

The Tundra is at the bottom of the class in half ton fuel mileage. If Toyota could put a dual exhaust on and get a significant improvement in fuel economy, do you think they would have done it?

    Hello,
I would call Keith Carty of Dirty Deeds Industries and pick his brain. No one knows Tundra's like Keith does. He is out of the office most days, but is always available via phone. You can call or text him anytime at 760-877-4234. He does take many calls and texts a day, but is very good at getting back to everyone.

    Thanks, Shawna, DDI
