Finally got around to it and wrapped all that silver trims. Turned out okay but the edges were kind of tough. My first time doing this and i really like the outcome. Next will be the silver trims on the door panels.IMG_0293.jpg IMG_0289.jpg IMG_0292.jpg IMG_0290.jpg IMG_0291.jpg

Looking good. Fantastic job. Cant wait to do this on mine.
How are the vent ring pieces attached to the trim? Are they attached to the vents themselves?

Yes it was the 3M. It is time consuming but you have to be patient and play with it a bit. I mainly used my hands and a plastic flat trim tool. Heat gun also. The shift knob is from a old Lexus IS300 and yes it is a screw on. Those rings are attached to the vents by tabs so when you take those vents off it can easily be popped out. I left mine chrome cause I my shift knob and the shift plate has a little chrome in it too.

A little of this and a little of that.
Nice frickin' job man!! I have the vinyl but could you come to my house and do mine next? lol. I don't want to do the dash & steering wheel but the vent rings, shift base plate and ring and cup holder rings you could do for me.

@QTunDrA when you pulled the center console apart did you see any way to do that trim piece on the shifter?
I know I seen it somewhere but can't find that thread anymore.

Dude this was awesome. Definitely made the interior look solid. I've been wanting to do this but I'm looking to do it in a dark black, grey and blue kryptek. Just looking for the vinyl. Great job.

I did not mess with the shifter but once you get the console off it shouldnt be too hard to get off. The door panels i left on installed and just took my time to apply the vinyl and trimmed. I have to redo the drivers door cause i see some bubbles and that was the first one i did but the other three doors i got the hang of it and they came out okay.

Are you talking about the inner chrome piece in the shifter? If so the two plastic pieces are soldered together. I didn't want to risk it so I just taped it off and painted it.

Good work OP! I'm about to do this same thing with all the silver pieces. Ordered a bunch a sample vinyls, thinking of going with a dark grey or gunmetal grey

You use the heat gun to soften the vinyl so it can stretch and wrap around edges and corners easier. I used it quite a bit but dont use it too much in one area. it will melt and damage the vinyl.

When you redo the door will you repost how it went. Im curious if removing it will leave anything behind and mess up the second try.

This 3M material comes off clean. It does not leave any sticky stuff behind.
