You can shift so much faster and smoother now. The plush leather on your hands is like a warm coconut bath on your finger tips.

how do you like the sway bar?
Any tips on painting the exterior door handles?
    that gauge cluster is purty.
love the sequoia lights, I’m planning this swap as well, are the lights brighter than the 2nd gen ones?

The sway bar is great. I found a used one for $100 on Craigslist, so it felt too good to pass up. Don’t know if I would buy one new, but a lot of people swear by it.

As along as you sand the texture down smooth, painting the handles was just like any other spray paint job. Spend your time on prep and it will pay off in the end.

The OEM sequoia headlights are full LED, so not only do they look way better than the original lights, but they are WAY brighter than stock. Night and day difference in light output and they make the truck look better than brand new in my opinion.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Blacked out airbag emblem? Heard that's a tough process to do.

Love the 2nd gen! Tasteful upgrades too. Love the sequoia headlights.

    Thanks!

The blacked out airbag logo wasn’t bad. I masked it and painted in place with light coats.

Lol I guess I should've thought about that. Was reading about disassembling the entire steering wheel and airbag in order to do this... seemed like too much work for me.
Now I have a new mod for this weekend, thank you sir.

Wondering what it took to move the tow/haul button to the right knee area?

@Shanet421 Hey Shane. Pretty sure the wire was long enough so I just rerouted it and plugged it back in. I really don’t remember it being any trouble at all.

One thing to keep in mind: not all of the switches fit in all of the locations. They are all keyed differently and only fit in corresponding spots in the dash. Idiot-proofing at the factory I assume. I may have cut the “key” tab off the switch to make it fit where I wanted to, but I don’t recall.

Thanks for that info. Also to triple check the part number for the black instrument cluster bezel is 55410-0C030?

That and the hvac climate control panel will be next to go black. Last will be the power window switch bezels. I see you painted yours. How are they holding up over time? Do you know if Toyota made these black at the factory?

Yes, I’m fairly certain that 55410-0C030 is the correct # for the black instrument cluster surround.

To my knowledge there are no OEM black window switch bezels. There could be another sequoia part I’m not aware of though. I painted mine with textured black and they are holding up perfectly. Same paint I used on my shifter bezel. Pretty rugged stuff I would say.

Man why does the “grade” cluster bezel cost $100 more then the grey one. You have the black OEM one? How do you like it? Is it easy to keep clean like the grey? Doing it over again would you go a different way? The photos I see online don’t do justice to the real thing I hope.

Yeah, I like it a lot more than the grey one. It’s just textured flat black, so it’s nothing special, but I think it looks a lot better. Look back at this post for some pics of mine.

Another option would be to scuff and paint your stock bezel. You could get a non-textured black bezel this way. The silver gauge trim rings are removable, so you could even leave those silver, or paint them a different contrasting color.

Looking at those pics I seem to like your painted shifter part better then the cluster. In terms of color and sheen. I’m torn as what to do. Paint all these parts and hope for the best at a cost of $100 or so or spring for $500 and get all the pre-finished black OE parts. Plus the $120 reman climate panel. My truck is 4x4 so will also need Control Switch - Toyota (84724-0C020)

Paint it. You can always buy the black stuff later. Plus there’s prob not a ton of resale value on your OE parts.
