Hi, my reply that you quoted was to a guy who said he needs to tune a 2010 Tundra.
For your truck, being a flex fuel, Toyota never had a supercharged calibration available. They were only available for 2007-2015 non-flex trucks.
To tune your truck you have a few options. You can buy a canned tune from Magnuson and flash it with their RTD dongle, you will not be able to make any changes to their tune afterwards.
Or you can purchase HPTuners and credits, get a stock non supercharged file for your ECU calibration ID, and have it custom tuned by someone who knows their way around tuning Tundras with HP.
Or, do the same thing with Orange Virus using vF Tuner.

I work at the dealership and we absolutely do have the TRD S/C calibration files available for any non flex fuel 2007-2015 Tundras. Whoever you talked to doesn’t know their stuff.

Thanks for clearing that up! Maybe i am crazy but i can't believe this process has been so confusing and complicated. I would have thought a lot more people would have already done this and worked out all the kinks. With that, is there a good reason Toyota didn't SC the FFV's and do you know of any reason not to? Also, who do you recommend from the few you listed for my set-up/tune?

    Just my thoughts so far:
-Magnuson seems like the easy button but cant modify down the road and $1200
-BD and spark don't seem to offer anything anymore. This correct?
-HP seems overly complicated but possibly the best option for detailed programing
-I dont know anything about vF or Orange Virus other than what was stated above (researching now...)
-Should i just buy a non FFV..?! haha

your only real options is magnuson locked calibration, HP tuners + some custom dyno tune, or VF tuner + tune pack for FFV SC.

Since youre truck is a 2015 FFV, it's likely 0CM51 or 0CM52, which we have already worked on heavily and have base tune files for.

You could use those base calibrations and modify from / tune further / etc. There are helpful folks on our forum too.

Depending on your location, there are some of our VF Tuner Pro tuners that could assist you as well. @pnw.tundra is one

How do you think I should go about talking to the dealership. I’ve went in and talked to them they said they don’t do the flash to trd. The I called a Toyota dealership about 30 miles away and they said they couldn’t do it either. I just don’t want to come off as a jerk telling them they can do it they just don’t know how or don’t want to. I’ve already got my hptuner mpvi2 and downloaded the vcm suite. I get my truck back tomorrow from the shop, He’s putting on a bullydog but I don’t want to go that route.

Please PM him. This isn't the thread for these type of questions.

I only ask so that this thread isn't cluttered with things that have nothing to do with our development / product

It doesn't have to be Toyota to flash the TRD tune. I found a local shop and they had the hardware and actually let me use it and I downloaded techstream onto my laptop and flashed the TRD tune myself. The hard part is having the correct dongle/flash cord stuff (which you can buy cheap knock offs but they might not work), the rest is a $100 techstream subscription and a laptop.

Anybody who bought in pre-vFT (old flash manager) get tune packs yet? (No cost)

Not sure if this is still necessary? but I send zendesk a message to have my tune converted to VFT awhile ago and didn’t get a response, order #5512

    found, sent.

I don't have 0CM21 ready, only 0CM22 ECU Update version right now.

Also for people reading this thread I have sent out tune packs for people who requested them to most others.

Please be sure to request it, or your custom tune, or both.

When I have 0CM21 (and a few other of the old pre-TSB) ECUs ready I will let you guys know via a post.

Also, important. If you have an old ticket and haven't heard anything in a long time, please submit a brand new one (with your info). Zendesk automatically closes and deletes tickets after a certain amount of time. So your ticket may not even be in our system. (this would be for old customers only, like 1+year)

Are you still working on the 0CM51/52 update tunes as well. Sent a request for a converted tune couple months ago and sounded like I’d be getting the updated to 0CM52, but never got a response at my last message to you.

Yes, when 1.3.0 releases it will have a way for you guys to update the ECU properly, like techstream does. That's what we are finishing working on. Because updating by techstream / dealership, etc is a hassle.

(this feature is almost done FYI)

BUT it is very important to do a FULL READ of the instructions of how to use it when we do release it

Geez this makes me want to switch to HPTuners even more now. Year and a half in and still waiting on a finished product, now I’ve got to join another forum to get support or wait months for email responses.

Where most of the complaints derived from. His snappy, knee jerk reactions didn’t help much and responded when called out; as it seemed needed for his customers to receive a response.
