Just checked my truck to see if I even have wires for a button. I think it's for the lane notification????

Around here guys tend not to sell trucks unless there's something wrong with them (outside of the end of term leases that have undoubtedly had the snot driven out of them for 3 years).

As to damaged vehicles, it would really depend on how much damage and where. I passed on buying a "new" 2018 Sierra that had had its entire right side, from the front quarter panel to the rear bumper, replaced after, as the salesman put it, "someone tapped it with their tailgate in the parking lot", as I was concerned about future body rattles. My parents and my wife both had doors replaced after minor collisions and now their vehicles have creaks.

Shoot, I bought my tundra new and it still took me days to figure out all the buttons, switches and stuff. I had to do what my pride says not to do and open that book thingy that came with the truck. Just a week or so ago I found a push button down low and to the right of the steering wheel I never knew was there.
Maybe it’s the updated version of the ejection seat button......

Its the long haul option available at select Toyota dealers. Load up the night before a road trip to give it a good test. Report back.

Like others have said its definitely for a light. But if its a momentary button it could have been for a horn, like a train horn. Have you pushed it in? Does it have power to it? It should light up if it does. If not, pull it out and get a blank for the spot, otherwise hook it up to a nice bumper light bar.

Don’t push that button! @Elkhunter did, and he took out all those mailboxes before going off a cliff. So. There’s that.

According to the 2014 owner’s manual, that spot is reserved for blind-apot monitoring
