I have a 2018 Crewmax SR5 Premium that I purchased last November. The stereo wasn't cutting it coming from an 08 Land Cruiser with the JBL Synthesis system. I opted to go for the bolt in and mostly plug and play under seat sub and amp from Alpine.

I bought it for ease of install and quality. The sub is an 8" and adds just enough bass. I just want to be able to hear the bass, I'm not 17 anymore and don't need to lose anymore hearing. I also knew I wanted to run new door speakers and tweeters so the separate amp mounted next to the sub was a clean easy solution. The factory amp puts out 18w RMS and the Alpine amp puts out 45w RMS to all 4 door speakers, so it was a noticeable upgrade that can be used with stock speaker wires.

For the speakers I opted for Alpine Type S 6x9 components for the front doors and Alpine 6.5 components for the rear doors. I purchased OEM Tundra JBL Equipped sail panels for the front doors so I had somewhere to mint the tweeters. The Alpine tweeters included with the components were a perfect fit for the new sail panels and rear door tweeter locations. The tweeters clicked into place and I used a few dabs of hot glue just to make sure they weren't going anywhere. I retained the factory dash speakers so phone calls still sound good over Bluetooth.

I know people on here don't seem to care for Taco Tunes, but they made the best quality speakers adapters for the front and rear doors that I could find. So I used their adapters, screw kit and speaker harnesses. Honestly it made for a pretty clean install.

A few install notes. The Alpine amplifier wire harness gives you two options on the power wire. You can plug it in into the factory amp bypass harness or run a new fused power wire strait to the battery. Albeit more work I ran the new power cable directly to the battery because the factory power cable looked to be a smaller guage. The amp instructions tell you turn the gain up about 25%, I found at this setting you could hear a speaker level white noise with the volume all the way down. I ended up turning the front and rear gain all the way down and it fixed the issue and I still have plenty of volume.

Overall the system sounds 10x better and cost me about 1k all in. The factory head unit works well so I don't plan on upgrading in the near future. Install time took about 12 hours as I took my time and kept everything very tidy.
