So I was watching a video on youtube about LED Reverse lights on stock tail lights. And wowza huge difference of coarse... but what about your aftermaket tail lights? (Anzo/WinJen) How bright is the Reverse light on those? or would you replace the reverse light in those with a LED right away?

    Thanks in advanced!

Most aftermarket taillights have the same lens and reflector as the stock taillights and regardless of whether the brake/tail/turn portion is LED or not, the reverse is still just a standard bulb. I swapped the stock 921's for LED in mine and would do the same on aftermarket taillights too...much brighter. They do make the backup camera appear a little grainy at night though.

Ah okay, wasnt sure if aftermarket tail lights used the same bulb as OEM. I KINDA expected the Lens and reflector to be the same but was never too sure. Kinda stinks to hear that the LED can make the backup camera a little grainy at night... that was primarily the biggest reason I wanted the brighter reverse lights. Thanks for the reply @duece292

I put in Putco Plasma 360's. I love 'em, they're crazy bright. As far as the grainy backup camera, its not terrible. I think some of that comes from the LED license plate lights in combination with the reverse lights. The graininess is a small tradeoff for a big amount of light, especially when I'm backing into my garage.

I have some GTR lighting for reverse lights and VLEDS for license plate lights.... i found that if i turn the headlights off the graininess goes away. However, it is still a bit grey. I only do that when i am backing into my driveway so i don't shine my headlights in the neighbors houses at 4am.
Edited to correct headlights to off. This morning I realized I was turning them all the way off.
