If we keep it up, soon the only person he won’t be ignoring is himself.

    Step 2: ???

    Step 3: Profit!

Did my part for the neighborhood today. Cleaned the gutters at the river pavilion and swept the roof. They wouldnt let me do it for free, so i agreed to let them pay me back for the brisket for the cancelled party. So apparently i earn about 5 lbs of raw brisket per hour. Coulda done it in an hour, but its too nice to not get in the water. River is rockin’ and rollin’.

Knock on whatever but my truck isn't doing that anymore. I had a few pucker up moments coming to a stop and the dang brakes went into abs mode. Hopefully mine worked itself out :notsure:

    HELP NEEDED:
Well, damn. I see I’ve missed some drama, not staying current in here. As has been previously established and I readily admit, there’s a lot I don’t know. But I’ve committed to a course of learning by doing— and I don’t want to get hurt, so I’ll ask and hope y’all will guide me.

After a previous false start— wishing I could find instructions about how to pull off the dash (still haven’t)— I think I’ve finally gathered all the assorted pieces I’ll need to install a ham, and so today I’m finally pulling apart the dash. Proof of progress:
    F890D836-FBA8-40C9-9175-1CF4EE57D797.jpg

The last fasteners I can see that may need removal (?) are these, the upper glove box surround:

9FC4E1AE-8CDF-4E0F-AFC3-6EFECEAB275A.jpg Can any of you confirm, or direct me?

    Question 2 (Safety concern):
Is there anything I need to know to avoid screwing up airbags???

Battery has been disconnected. A neighbor suggested I turn accessories to on position and pump brakes... I considered he might be playing with me but he said that might discharge any stored charge, so I’m game... any other directions or warnings you can give me will be appreciated!

We’ll be headed that way in July, really wishing to watch a reenactment, but they seem pretty rare these days. Have you got resources you can point me to, regarding where when others may be scheduled? :)

For whatever reason, our Memorial wkends turn back to fall for a few days and us lake folks get to enjoy a few naughty nipples while out on the lake
Yesterday it was cloudy and 61 and during the cannons this morning it was a cool N breeze of 63 !

They only do the Battle re-enactment in April each year.

Place it in a safe place facing up.

On my 2004 there is a 10mm behind the Combination meter holding the dash.

Disconnect both battery terminals and then use something to make them both touch each other for a few minutes. That will discharge every capacitor in the truck.

There’s a safety clip on the air bag plug that needs to slide before you can use the squeeze to release it.

That glove box liner needs to be removed. Then there are 2-14mm that hold the airbag in.

There are also a few that go up from the lower dash and one behind the kick panel.

Also, go ahead and take the gauge cluster out. Start by removing the surround and then then 4 Phillips that hold the cluster in. No worries on anything there. Just unplug and work it out from behind the wheel.

There are a few more 10mm hiding back there as well as another behind the driver kick panel.

Can’t tell from your pic if you’ve got them yet, but there are at least 4 10mm hiding behind the radio bezel.

You should download the free FSM for 2002/2003 Tundra. Someone here has it and can post the link? You can go straight to the source for detail. IIrc, there is a special procedure which needs following to the T.

That’s what I’d prefer to do, but I asked 2-3 weeks ago and didn’t get these details, so I’m tap-tapping my way through because I don’t want to lose more time.

But... please, anyone on here that can point me to the FSM for a 00-02 Tundra, I’d appreciate it! Or just dismantling the dash, which is what I need right away.

    Thanks all that are helping!

Thats a great description. When I left the Front End Rebuild Place the brake pedal was fine until getting up to speed and then coming to the first stop. Thats when ‘Ice Mode’ kicked in but not until that last 10 mph and under as the Pedal Sank to the floor with ratat tats. The pedal didn’t sink until under 10 mph when ABS kicked in.

Turned around and carefully made it back. Guy said it was a Sensor Problem. They took it back and fixed it in less than 5 minutes. Assuming a small adjustment on replacement was needed? Been fine since with 3 years driving.

I gave the old girl a coating of 303 Graphene today. Turned out pretty nice. Based on the vids I watched for this product I'm optimistic for long lasting shine. Anybody else use this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/303-Graphene...622408210&sprefix=303+graphene,aps,375&sr=8-5

Looks better in the sun but don't have that luxury right now.

Now that is a wonderful description. That's exactly what would happen to me. Come to think of it last year I did pressure wash the heck out of the undercarriage, I guess that must have had something to do with it.:notsure: If it happens again I will definetly look more into it.

I love the 303 for trim, but have never used the 303 Graphene. Seems like mixed reviews from your link. We’ll see what you think in 6 months.

I might give that stuff a try. I've been meaning to get something to do a quick "wax" after washing. It takes too much time to do a real wax on her every time! Spray n wax type stuff is nice for removing water spots too. Our water is so hard I have to swish swish a couple spots even after a sham dry.

You too? All the car washes here have the “spot free rinse” which I assume is either softened, RO or distilled. I don’t wash at home anymore because I can’t dry fast enough to avoid the water spots.

I use this stuff and it seems to help a little. With wax on my truck I can usually just shammy it off and get rid of most the water spots. If it isn't waxed then I'm doomed to go back and hand shine all the spots off or live with it.
