What thickness is the steel? Also I would suggest adding a plate support plate to the frame to help support all of the flexing that the body has Offroad.BFEE4D8C-941E-43C9-8C5B-DF3E1BEAFD15.jpg

Look into a relocation kit. It gives a significant amount more than even the most aggressive bmc. You might as well do it right the first time.

I encourage anyone looking at this to watch the small front overlap crash test of the tundra. Just so you know what you potentially may be getting yourself into. Specifically note where the drivers front wheel ends up. Then ask yourself if this is going to make that issue better or worse.

I think the negative comments have already been made about this relocation part. Can we move on now to how after the negative (or possible negative) portion of this is considered, how much of a benefit this is for anyone that offroads? I agree, if you're a mall crawler then really don't need this, but anyone that has already "modded" there truck can benefit from this. If you're really concerned about issues with an accident then weld some support plates in there while you're already welding. Just my two cents.

Been almost 8 months since any pics or updates with this mod. Seems that not too many folks have done it that are members here. We know what the worst case scenario could be if not done properly. The additional bracing would be a good idea and should be done.

Yes I get it and thanks everyone. I would absolutely reinforce the body and make it stronger than stock. I did do this in my Tacoma. Overkill build everything.

Yeah a body lift on a truck that has the bumpers mounted to the frame. Not going to look good.

Seen a lot of relocating work like this without a proper plating support on the frame... and seen some damages done to the frame with it not being plated as well.

Care to share some examples of the damages?

Ive seen quite a few Tacomaworld guys do this exact mod, haven't seen any issues with it yet. Not saying it wont be a problem, I just keep hearing how it will be without any actual experience or proof of those statements.

I do not have proof of a screenshot of the damages because where I saw it from is from a few account I follow on Instagram that post it on their story and of course they only stay on for 24hours. I wouldn’t even mention or say this if I never saw it.

but then again if people are doing this just for daily driving to clear tires and not truck it then I suppose they should not have an issue.

I’ve been wanting to do the relocate and still plan to, just more supported with the frame plated up before the mount kit.

The cab has more stress than you can imagine especially if you Offroad any at all. No matter how good of a welder you have they can not prevent the weld from having stress cracks eventually. I have seen it time after time and most end up redoing them and adding a plate.

Too many mods to list right now for both Tundra
Looking to develop one. Mechanical stress and deformation amount from the cab just need to be design into the part and I believe a 1/4” wall thickness plate with relocation and brace will brings a factor of safety of more than 5x. Look for my design soon to be release.

Soooo any finish product? Cause I’m needing it lol. I have done the BMC already to clear 35” tires with a 0mm offset BUT the driver side tire rubs when going reverse turning the wheel left at full lock. TAKE MY MONEY!

NTK kit seems to follow everything tundra4x4offroad mentioned if you look at the description.

my buddy bought the Tacoma version from NTK and it’s seems to be pretty stout. He just waiting to get it installed whenever he has time.

Bringing back this thread, anyone pick up this NTK Cab relocation kit? Thoughts? I saw the other post regarding Kit relocation. I think Ray's mention LCS Fabrication, what's the difference between these two? Any others out there worth mentioning?

I think someone here has the LCS kit or maybe I saw it on the FB groups, but if they're here hopefully they chime in. Thinks it's @khooiii actually.

Buddy of mine that got his NTK kit installed last year on his Tacoma hasn't had any issues with it. Shop messed up though and didn't weld the load plates on the frame first so his mounts are straight to the frame but everything still looks good, not sure if he'll get that sorted later on.

Differences I'm seeing is the NTK has the load mount plates that weld to the frame first, the LCS kit has reinforcements plates that go on the bottom of the mounts but no load plates so welded straight to the frame.

DRT Fabrication also has a kit in the works for the Tundra but saw somewhere its not a priority to them since they haven't seen a large interest in them from Tundra folks. I like the DRT kit since on their Taco kit they have both load plates and the reinforcement plates

    Guys,

I talked to Drt fabrication and he informed me that his pre orders will go live in the next few weeks. This kit looks to be the strongest of all the other kits on the market as it offers the most well rounded beef mount and a base plate for the frame the same as the Tacoma kit. “Pictures are of the Tacoma mount but should be similar” I made a thread about it on the 2.5 gen page, I will update as I get an update of when the pre order is live!

if you cut the entire ear off, you should be good.

I would definitely be interested in this mount set up especially for 37’s
