I guess I have been living under a rock but recently discovered how to hack a tool deal at your local Home Depot. Now before someone calls me out saying this is dishonest I checked with my local HD manager and flat out asked him about. HD is aware of it and has no problem with it according to him.

So what you do is find a deal (usually in a set)where they allow you to add on an extra tool or battery at a discounted price. You can order it to pick up or delivery and then you return the set and you keep the extra tool you picked up at a discounted price. Actually you can immediately cancel the set when you order on line and still get the discounted tool and not have to return anything.

For instance late last night I ordered this set of batteries https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...0-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-48-59-1852/315426067and then added in MilwaukeeM18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. Hammer Drill/Driver (Tool-Only) . I canceled the battery deal AFTER I ordered them to be shipped to me. Instead of the bare tool costing me $149 I got it for $85 and picked it up this morning.

Maybe this video will explain it better.

I've been using it for Milwaukee Tools but understand it can be used with DeWalt and Ryobi as well.

Another thing I discovered you can use a different store in another state and find better deals than maybe your local store. For instance I was looking at a Milwaukee 18v blower (tool only). Local store was $169. Found another store in another state that had the exact blower for $99. Shipping was free so not a bad deal at all.

I prefer to buy from Canadian stores, even if it costs me a little more.

People on RFD (RedFlagDeals) do it all the time.

Saw comes with free stand. Saw is $400. Stand has value of $200.

Your bill will be prorated the return value of each item. So you can return the FREE stand and end up paying $330 for the saw ($70 credit for returning stand).

I've never done it, but know many have success with it and there is nothing illegal or shaddy about the process, at least up here as the bill shows your return value and paid value etc. The FREE items, counts towards your paid item. Some will just sell the FREE items online and try to recoup more.

I dunno... I detect statistically significant quantities of shaddy in this sector.

However, based on the thread they're in, clearly not official shenanigans.
