That is unfortunate. We've fostered 3 dogs so far. We've had 2 returned and one of the returned found a new home just the other day. Let's hope that one sticks. We've had to find another foster for one of them as our other "long-term" foster could not deal with the pup.

People just don't think about the animal's feelings and care more about how things inconvenience them. I'm not a vegan by any means but it's the same disassociation I see with people and where their meats come from. Just my take on it.

    That is just sad.
Our three dogs were adopted, and 1 cat my wife wouldn’t leave the shelter without her.

Yes it is. I would definitely look myself if I didn't have two Jack Russell's already.

We lost our lovely Rita at 13 last year to old age and cancer. We knew we were getting another dog and had a hard time finding one at a shelter or the pound due to everyone wanting one while they were working from home. There were wait times, interviews, meets, people ahead of us....but it all worked out with the butthead below.

I was afraid people would start returning dogs after the fun wore off. They are 24/7 commitment for their entire life but well worth it. I couldn't imagine life without a dog. People should need a certificate or course to acquire a dog, not just plop down $50. At minimum, I hope they go on a nationwide blacklist to not allow them to acquire another pet....ever.

    What's shame.

Martha says "Rescue Dogs Rule".

Our last dog was a rescue. He was my buddy. We did everything together. He died of old age about three years ago. 14years old is pretty old for an Akita. We have another rescue dog now. She is a good dog and we love her but she has her own place and doesn't replace my old buddy. I miss him. There is karma for the way people treat animals.

Yeah, it's BS. Using pets as a temporary crutch for the wrong reasons. I mean, maybe not wrong at first but to discard "once you're done" is pretty low.

this is one of my rescues. (my GF got in college in 09 I think)
Ziva - Golden retriever / Chow mix

Yeah some people just have no clue. It's pretty sad that they adjusted to their new homes and then it was all taken from them. I've had my Jack Russell's for about 7 and a half years and they fight once in a while (instigated by the female) but that doesn't mean I would get rid of her.

No pets here. But I can say that’s a shitty thing to do. If it’s done I would hope there was such a serious situation that there was no other choice.

Thats terrible. I'm actually looking for a second pup to keep my dog company when I go back to the office. Maybe we can find him a buddy soon.

This is interesting.. I caught someone probably dumping their pitbull in front of our place.... I had put my kids in the truck and the vehicle wasn't there. Grabbed some stuff and these guys had jumped out of a van along with their dog. The neighbor pulled up in their driveway too, all coincidences I guess. Since both guys were already back in the van and the pit was standing in the middle of the road... they looked like they were arguing about something with all the doors closed before the pit was allowed to jumped back in and they peeled out...
