Colder than Denver? I'm honestly asking. I've never been to CO.

Interesting. I've grown up thinking Denver was way more extreme

Nope. Denver is pretty mild. We get some cold fronts that make it butt cold, but you can get away with just a sweater most of the time. Those huge mountains block most of the cold and snow.

I lived in Boise, ID for 5 years. Weather there was better than Denver. Before I moved I thought it was going to be cold and snowy all winter. Boy, was I wrong. Yep...gets a little cold in winter, but not bad. RARELY made it below the 20s at night and virtually every day in the winter was in the 30s or better. Very little snow, either. I don't specifically remember it ever not getting up out of freezing during the day. That's in Boise, though. SKi area was alot colder and snowier, and other side of the mountains sure got the snow, but Boise? sweet spot!!! I loved Boise and would definitely consider moving back there.

I have a lot of family in Boise and they love it. Up in Coeur d Alene, it gets cold but it also is full of lakes and mountains that block the wind. My brother goes to college around Idaho Falls and that place is windy and fridged beyond belief.
Even though the winters can be long, CDA is where I'm retiring. Mountains, lakes and almost zero government reach.
