Anyone else dealing with this crap

hit me like crazy last Friday

today at work it started again

a co worker got 2 of the same messages from the same number. So I know it’s spam

    I have blocked the numbers
Set my phone to send texts from unknown numbers to a un known folder so I can keep them separate and block as needed

here’s a example from this evening

My state has a no call cell phone deal…. I don’t recall what govt website I went to. But I’m sure you can google it, and see if your state has something similar. I still get some, but mainly about our rental house, but the general annoying ones don’t call or text anymore.

Definitely a pain in the rear. I got a text the other day telling me to text bc he was in a meeting. I told him I didn't know who he was and he said he got a call from my number. I said no you didn't, I'm watching videos.

Looks like some scammer/robocaller spoofed your number and you are getting people's responses.

Co worker tested me and asked if my phone was still getting these, I said yes.

Several more folks are commenting that they are as well. Not all of those folks are in my contacts as well.

    fucking spammers.

A couple times recently, while working from home, I have received calls from unknown numbers. A different number each time. Both times, the person has answered and said they had a missed call from me moments earlier. I'm like...no, you didn't. My phone was sitting idle on my desk, not even in my hand.

The tell tale sign is they spoofed your area code (580) and exchange (399), to make it look like a legit message. I know how to stop it for inbound calls, but if they are using your number to make outbound texts… no clue. :frusty:
Some spammer is sending texts from your number…

I have blocked my number. A few years back I was getting calls and my caller is was my number lol

my phone is not sending out random text messages but I do not doubt my number has been spoofed along most everyone else.

I'm guessing your number starts with 580-399 so that's what shows up for these people when the robocallers spoof a number to call them. If I ever see a call from a number with the same first 6 digits as mine, I know it's spam.

I forward them to 7726 - it's a number the carriers use to report spam messages. After you forward it, your carrier will write you back and ask you to send the content of the message. Then I block the number.
