Been on the hunt for a new SR5 4x4 Crewmax with SR5 package for around 45k and the lowest one I found was for ~52k which includes a 3k market adjustment fee.

I live in Cali though so not sure if that matters but if the market stays this way I may never get my hands on a new one before they retire them...

One’s demand should never be so high as to pay msrp or more for a run of the mill vehicle.

Msrp is very common right now cause inventory is very low. Paying over that in Cali seems to also be very common but I wouldn’t. Find a truck that you can either drive home or have shipped and save yourself some cheddar

Well.....supply is extremely short right now......rumor on the street is no V8 for 2022. If you want a new Tundra with a V8, good luck finding one for less than MSRP.

This is the dealer I got mine at. Ask for Steve Lewis, hes a legit dude and gave me a solid deal on mine in December and I paid slightly less than msrp cause I have great credit and had a bag full of filthy $100 bills for down payment. Told him if he didnt work with me I'll go to the ford dealer nearby lol. I bought the last new truck on the lot and watched it roll off the trailer.

I’m buying my first tundra today. Unfortunately I am paying MSRP. That’s just how it’s going right now. Sticker price or someone else will buy it. Took me a couple weeks to find a dealer to even give me a decent trade on my Tacoma.

You should try Carvana and see what they’d give you for the Taco…

I got a 3k discount - yay! But then it turned out dealer added on 3k worth of USB cords, tint and clearcoat protectant...

    It's a seller's market right now.

Been looking for over a year and never pulled the trigger on one. Hindaight is 20/20. I can’t even find a 14-17 crewmax 4x4 at a reasonable price now. Found a 16 sr5 and dealer won’t come off 37k. Could buy a new one for 43k. Seller’s market for sure.

I’ve purchased my last two vehicles out of state for this reason. Cali dealers have become ridiculous, they are greedy misers who are all about the up charge or add-on. Most have no concern for adding $5-10k on Msrp right now. Used cars are even worse as they constantly push high mileage cars as if they are low mileage.

Bought a new 4runner a couple years ago, the dealer in Arizona was amazing and even covered the shipping. Price was several thousand better than any Cali dealer. This spring I bought a tundra out of Nebraska, again the dealer was great, no surprises, no hour long triple no insurance pitch. The used vehicles outside of Cali usually have half the miles for the same or lower price.

I struggled to find one $9K under MSRP a year ago; I had to settle for $8K under MSRP.

A lot of people are going to lose their asses on vehicle purchases over the next few years. I wouldn't buy anything right now, if possible.

So true, me being one of them. But we needed a vehicle and needed a truck. That said, people lose their asses more often to stupidity than market fluctuation. Buy what you need, then keep it for long term. I plan to have this truck for 15-20 years, I’ll get my money’s worth out of this truck regardless of any market fluctuations.

The dealership up here by me also will not sell above MSRP, which I feel reflects on the integrity of the dealership. That said, there lot is nearly empty of everything. Ha!
