    Hello,

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra and the front speakers in the door are blown. When replacing them do I get round car speakers that are 6 1/2 inch size? Will I need any special adapter or wire harness or will the aftermarket speakers plug and play?

Thanks for the link. I am in the US and prefer to purchase locally.

From the link above the 2008 Tundra has a 6x9 size front speaker? Do I need anything additional or just get this size speaker and plug and play?

You can either cut the factory connector plug off and use the 2 wires directly to your new speakers or you can buy the adaptors for $10-15 and save the factory plugs

If you just buy a 6x9 speaker and try to make it fill the hole in the door, your window will hit it when you roll it down and it will sit back an inch or two from the door panel, which is why I recommended the Toyota specific Focal set, which I'm sure you could purchase locally.

Buying the Toyota specific speaker set will also prevent you from needing to cut wires (don't do this!) or purchase extra plug harnesses.

If you want to use a generic 6x9 speaker, you will need to purchase spacers specific to the Tundra, wiring pigtails that can plug into your harness, and 6x9 drivers. If you get full range 6x9 drivers, you may also want to disconnect any other dash/pillar midrange/tweeter speakers that you have.

Another option is just getting some used pulls from a junkyard.

Purchased these locally.. incredible sound but a tight fit with a little trimming of the inside door panel and dash covers.. The magnets will be against the window guide but doesn’t effect the window movement..Factory wires... you just need the plug harness adapter for the 3.5’s..a good audio store should be able to hook you up.
