My driver side vent would not stay pointed where I wanted. Toyota retail was over 100, got it from a dealer on eBay in the UAE for 68 bucks shipped, it just came well packed and it's the right one!

 

Mine is different.

But has a separate fog switch similar to that. I have tried it in every possible configuration. The anytime fog mod makes it so the switch is bypassed, I don't have power/light with that pin grounded.

 

Ah ok gotcha. Might have to run it the OEM way for now then

 

Outside the DD fogs it is OEM. The DD fogs connect directly where the bulb goes, they work on both sides connected to the headlight connector, an OEM bulb connected to the fog does not work either.

 

Yes they fit. I have them on mine.

 

Fit our 2017 just fine.

 

Hertz speakers installed in Tacosomething 6x9 adaptors for the front doors, Image Dynamics in Tacosomething spacers for the back doors.

Amps ready to go, Opened the box of interfaces/adaptors from Crutchfield, sat radio & nav antenna connectors missing, ordered from Amazon install delayed. grrrrr

 

OEM harness desoldered from the Kenwood harness, Maestro harness soldered up.

 

Last night I tore into the dash, replaced the vent & hooked up the radio. I have no sound or steering wheel control. Checked the troubleshooting and found I had not connected the harness with the RCAs. Tried to connect them but the harness is wrong.


The standard Toyota power connector connects to the Maestro harness, but then I can't connect to the radio:

I need the female of the above male, I have this completely different connector.

I do have interaction with the Maestro & get the backup camera to come up in reverse but no picture, just the guide lines, hopefully, that is just a setting. Waiting for 6am when Maestro opens.

 

This may be a stupid question, but did you flash the Maestro? Simple process but it took me a couple of times to get the steering wheel functionality correct during the flash process.

 

Not a stupid question at all. I have done this before so knew about flashing, yup, it's set up. It sees the truck (see pics) Crutchfield sold me the wrong harness. They are paying for next day so I'll have it tomorrow.

How did you get them to work?

 

Cheated. I spent hours trying to find the fault unsuccessfully & then gave them their own circuit.

 

Stereo is in, need to install the amps & speakers/sub, so far so good. Everything works.

 

Buttons match the truck, TPMS & OBD2 functions done.





Ran the power cable through the firewall, it's already 90, need to run the RCAs, USB cables & install the amps, hoping to be able to shoehorn my JL stealthbox inside the driver rear 1/4 but its probable it won't fit. Those tasks are for next week.

 

Looking super clean man. Installing an aftermarket amp?

Tried three antenna adapters for the XM radio & NAV, none worked so I did what I should have in the first place, spliced the bi0tches.

 

Radar detector running through the Kenwood. Need to run the cable around the windshield into the headliner.

 

Wait till you add the Pioneer amp, you’re really gonna love your setup

 

I ran the RCAs for 8 channels, remote amp turn on and power, I'll be installing the D9601 and sub in the morning.

 

Ran the cable, like having access through the head unit.

Sub is in it's temporary location. I will try to get it into the stock location, I may try to put the DD driver in the stock box if the JL box does not work. I replaced the OEM crummy JBL "woofer" with the slim JL driver from this box about the second day I had the truck.

 

Moved the sub to the back of the truck.

 

My Wife constantly tells me not to save things. I have had these since 2015, bought for my X5 that I sold. I just ordered the 5th quart the Sequoia needs.

And yes, I still have a fully functional VCR.

5th quart & pump came, needs a solution to the stupid Redline bottle opening.

So I dug an even older partial (very little) Amsoil bottle out of the archives.

 

I was finally able to get a pic of the radar detector screen on the Kenwood. 24 dollar harness is a bargain!


A month before I got the Sequoia I threw away my Tundra skid plate that had been sitting in the garage for over 2 years.

Picked this one up from BiggHertz It was clean and I painted it. Thanks!
