Hello all. New member from Florida here. I picked up my 2021 Cement Gray SR5 Double cab on March 1 of this year. Not a lot of extra add ons because I need a truck not a luxury car and this is still fancier than my daily driver. Some items on my original wish list were not on the delivered vehicle, but with the scarcity of new Tundras available I took what was out there from dealer swaps and saved a bunch of money by adding aftermarket for what I was missing. Truly, the only things I really wanted but didn't get was spray in bed liner and running boards with other things being wants not needs. This missing spray in bed liner was good luck for me because I installed a full Bed Rug and that will save wear and tear on my kayaks. I also installed a Truxedo tonneau, APS Iboard running boards, and have ordered LED replacement bulbs for the interior lighting. I may put in rear sway bars but I'm not certain.

Which brings me to my question- I definitely want to put in the interior grab handle. However, when I go to Sparks, the site tells me that it will not fit my 2021 Tundra.

    https://www.sparksparts.com/p-tundra-grab-handle-kit-pktungrab

My thought is, that since the vehicle hasn't been redesigned in so long, it's just that the website hasn't caught up with the model year. Can anyone verify for me from experience that this will fit the 2021? All my car projects manage to be adventures anyways and take way longer than they should, so I would really like to start from the correct starting point.

Thanks for any help that can be provided. BTW, I'm really enjoying the Tundra.

I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t fit. Like you said, they haven’t changed anything in a very long time, so I’m sure it’ll still work.

    Welcome to Tundras!

I ordered one from a local dealer for my 2021 just bought in March. Really easy install. About 10 minutes and theres some great tutorials out there. The dealer didn't even realize you could use the handle from a Sequoia in the Tundra. I just gave them the parts numbers and had them arrive 2 days later.
Had one in my 2010 and couldn't get in my new truck without it I quickly learned. Saves me from dragging my butt across the leather and wearing it out sooner.

    Not sure at this point.
Should fit nonetheless. You'll just have to make sure you have the hardware needed to secure it to the a-pillar.

    Welcome from Wyoming.

Dealership websites and parts lists will say that any item that wasn't on the truck as Toyota originally configured it "won't fit." It's all based off trims and standard equipment. It has nothing to do with a part actually being compatible. Because Toyota removed the driver side handle for crash test ratings, the sites will all say they don't fit because they aren't original equipment. You'll be able to install it no problem, and I think Sparks even has the hardware kit that you need for it too.

Just curious...none of you are concerned about the functionality of the air bag along that pillar with that grab handle installed? Obviously the handle itself is much thicker and stronger than the cover without a handle, and if there is an air bag inflating under there, it seems to me it will not inflate as designed...seems unlikely to blow off that thick handle that is now bolted on with two bolts. And that section would be filling in the the area above and left of the steering wheel. Sure there is one on the passenger side, but there is no steering wheel over their so the bag coming out of the dash are is likely covering up to that area.

So no concern? Toyota engineers just blowing smoke and trying to maximize profits? You think the airbag will work just fine anyway? Steering wheel air bag is good enough?

I would like to install one...but would gladly go without to not get my head smashed in the event of a crash or that thick handle getting shot into my skull by the air bag deploying.

There is one on the passenger side, so if its safe over there, why would it not be safe on the drivers side?

The air bag will deploy as normal if an incident occurs. You will be just fine installing a handle.
