@Skeezo Thanks, yeah I'm still running the stock control arms, probably 30k miles now and no issues, I do plan to replace them soon with spc or similar.

I just installed the 612's a couple day's ago right after I was done I took it to get an alignment but it's not perfect and pulling to the right as well. Decided to order UCA's because I feel it is very necessary

I’m running 614s w/ SPC arms in the front and Dakar packs w/ Bilstein 5160s & 2” shackles in the rear. There is a huge RTT in the back on a steel bed rack. Just added a Fab Fours bumper & 12k winch last weekend. My front measures 25” driver & 25.5” passenger. It dropped 1/2” on both sides w/ the addition of the ~220lbs of bumper/winch.

Installed UCA's and got an alignment. Everything feels Good until I drive at 70mph. Getting some serious vibration.

did you do rear carrier and front diff drop? OME runs high so you probably need them.

Probably gonna keep the setup I've got and just do the Toytec progressive leaf pack for the back, drop the Toytec shackle down to the 1" and crank up the front maybe 1/4". My GFC has a build date of August so, I've got some time to decide.

I like the Duratracs, but may switch out to the new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T's in 305/70/18, when my local Discount has them available.

Alright folks. The incessant squeaking from my Dakar leafs is killing me. I replaced the shackles with the greasable OMEs, and the bushing squeak is now gone but the leafs themselves are making noise.

Have any of you solved this?
Thoughts on me adding the overload spring so the leafs don’t compress as much during everyday driving?

I really want to fix this rather than do something drastic like buy new Alcans.

Any one with the OME greaseable shackles and a 295/70-18 or larger spare tire in stock location?

Do the OME shackles rub on the tire? Clearance?

I don’t have a larger spare than stock, but I will say the OME shackles are fairly low profile. Nowhere near as wide as some of the other aftermarket ones out there.

Dang hey. I’m one of the weird ones that doesn’t have leaf squeaks. You try fluid film or anything like that?

I’ve tried a few different silicone lubricants, graphite, Wd-40, retorquing everything, and no change.
I haven’t tried fluid film yet, but that would be less expensive than new leafs

    :notsure::notsure::notsure:
Can't remember where I read it - perhaps straight from ARB? To use marine grease between each leaf? When I eventually get this kit I will be adding the D28XL add a leaf - so I'm gonna try the marine grease while I have the packs disassembled.

Now whether marine grease is fundamentally different than what you choose, I dunno?

I wonder if you jacked up the frame and let the axle droop fully if blowing compressed air through the leaf cracks then greasing would help?

I really don’t wanna take these things out again, and then to take them apart is another layer of fun added on :bananadead:

If I do that, I’ll be adding the overload leaf for sure. Maybe I’ll try it, I just worry about the grease needing to be reapplied over time, and just how often.

Fingers crossed that will work, because I just had them out putting the shackles on and I’m not a fan of removing them. Lol

I might jack up the frame, pressure wash between the leafs and let it dry. Then add grease where I can, and fluid film it all after for good measure.

Did your guys OME kits come with the greaseable shackles? I see conflicting pictures (most without) and parts lists (with them listed as included).

I have the icon AAL on mine and they were squeaking crazy. I would press down on the tailgate and it would squeak. So I parked the truck over the curb in front of my house opposite side of the squeak. Pressed down on the tailgate and squeak was gone. What this did was extend the leafs so they weren’t rubbing metal on metal and that told me that’s where the squeak was. Used some Lucas red tacky spray grease in between the leaf springs where there was space and now squeak is gone. Good luck.

3" OME lift w/ UCAs. ARE overland shell w/ ARE roof rack. 34" Falken Wildpeaks. ARB awning. Road shower. Wilco Offroad Hitchgate Solo High Clearance. LED lighting upgrades. Lockerdown console safe. Weathertech floormats. Duluth deluxe rear seat cover to go under the offroad approved car seats.... :P
Got the 3" OME 612s + Dakars + Add-A-Leaf and SPC UCAs installed over the weekend. Truck drives SOOOO much better, nice and planted, no body roll in the corners. Need to take some measurements and see how much it came up, eyeballed, it looks more than 3", so I'm curious how it will settle...
