Hahaha I'm going back and forth with it. I like my OG antenna because I use it as a measuring tool when I go into parking structures. I like the stubby antenna thought!

I see you're in LA was well. What part? We should do a Tundra meet up with @jerryallday and a few other locals.

Hahaha those are some great hobbies.
I guess there is a Toyota meet up tonight that I wasn’t aware of. Post #119 said it’s in Orange County.

I'm clearly not doing that tonight, worked until 1900 then settled into a couch and some booze. OC is in my range, so are you, I'm by LAX in this weird town that seems to be going really "woke" but it's great. My home value is stupid, but so is my mortgage. Maybe a low-pro get together some time. I'm on training wheels.

Yeah, it was a yotatrader. Meets once a month. Tonight turnout was 1/8 of the normal group. The boxing match kept everyone at home.

    Update. She's done.
It's almost a brand new truck! Got the windows tinted today and the rear bumper on with Line-X.

That's nice! I like the color matched look of the handle and rear bumper. If I do some painting work on like I'm planning this year I need to do my handle and mirrors. It looks great.

Did you keep the factory door speakers/tweeters or did you switch those out as well? If you kept the factory how do they sound with the subs installed?

My passenger door speaker was blown so I replaced all speakers except the tweeters.

We just got my mother in-law's 2005 (same color as yours) with only 35k miles on it! Looking to do some upgrades.- noticed you have chrome strips on the front grill in this photo - I assume you added those (mine are same color as body)? where did you get them?

    thanks!

Is yours a limited? I thought limited grille was color matched and other trims weren't. Mine has the chrome strips in the grill.

Yes, it's a limited & matched color. I actually like the look of the chrome and thought maybe that was aftermarket... might look at a bully bar or something like that to dress up the front a little...

on a different topic - i want to switch out all the lights to LED. Was reading that installing LED on the main high/low beams makes the flood lights not work correctly. did you run into this? i guess a resistor is needed to match the load to the original factory spec to fix this - do you know if there are LED bulbs that already have this built it or does the resistor just need to be added to any bulbs i pick?

    thank you!

wow, 35k, thats really low. Congrats

I have a SR5 but the chrome grill was painted over when I had the truck repainted. I have everything colored match just like a Limited expect my side mirrors, I just painted those black.

So for the LED conversation, I never seen a built in resistor for a LED lamp. I just bought some LED's off Amazon and haven't had issues. As for the Fogs, yes, the fogs lights will not work BUT you buy this https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...ad-resistor-h4-led-headlight-bulbs/2932/6284/
You just need one, I bought two for a back up. I installed this on the driver side. One end goes into the wire harness and the other end goes into the LED lamp.

Thanks for the reply - I did see another article somewhere about that superbrightled resistor - but I think the one you linked is for a motorcycle - shouldn't it be this set instead?
    https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...esistor-kit-h4-led-headlight-bulbs/2179/5079/

Related question - did you also switch the fogs to LED? if so- do those need their own resistor as well or did that single one on the main lights take care of it?

I read about this from another forum and they said you just need one. It says its for a motorcycle but it works for our trucks. Just mount this somewhere away from anything you don't want to burn, this is a resistor so it gets really hot!

thanks for that! will start looking into the turn signals next.

just to confirm - for the front lights - did you also switch out the fogs to LED? just wanted to make sure that 1 resistor on the high/lows took care of everything - or do the fogs need their own resistor(s)/mods as well?

The 1 resistor is all you need if you change the head lights and fog lights to LED. Everything in my truck is LED (exterior and interior), including the fogs.

She's getting pampered by Polished Protection in Signal Hill, CA www.polishedprotection.com

Getting the full treatment. Color correction, PPF the front end and ceramic coat the entire truck.
