Thanks! I picked up a set of Trail Edition takeoffs and then mounted the Coopers.

    I’m digging the color too!

This wheel/tire combo looks very nice and gives a fresh new look to a Tundra with a few days on her.

So I need new tires, I really want these AT3 XLT, I have 18” TRD Wheels no lift might level in the future. What is the biggest size and width I can go without rubbing? No cutting please help if you know. I tried reading the thread but got really confused.

Thanks! I partly wish I had gone with 18" TRD takeoffs but these were a good deal. She does have a few days on her and she gets the work done!

@WYO_TUNDRA what is your suspension set up? Any wheel spacers? Considering this size in these Coopers.

An update on my purchase of Cooper XLTs:

I had one develop a inch long sidewall split about an inch from the bead. Replaced under warranty but had to buy a new certificate
    .
Still had issues with them keeping balance, the common Tundra shake at certain highway speeds and they would feel unstable at speed. Stock rims, so the rims were not part of the potential issue. Put 9000 miles on them, 4-5 trips to rebalance during that time. Last time the installer offered to give me full credit for them toward something else and I took the offer and installed Wildpeaks. Immediate improvement.

I liked the tires, they were wearing great and were impressive in the snow but they were clearly defective, just glad I got my full $ back and the new Wildpeaks are much better feeling and handling than what I had.

The Coopers are popular, so thought I should share my update. Hopefully it was in isolated incident, factory defect in the tires.

Thanks for posting you’re unfortunate experience @frichco228. I just got xlts installed this morning. Obviously not much to report yet, balance seems fine, unbelievable how quiet they are. Had to go 55 before I could hear them. 275/70/18 stock OR wheels.

How much tread depth is considered not worthy for off road? I have 20K+miles on my XLT's and I am not sure if it's too shallow? I live in an island with clay dirt/mud. I run studded snow tires in winters and avoid certain terrains that I do not feel comfortable with.

Thanks for starting this thread! I was looking for a good all terrain tire when I stumbled upon this thread. After a lot of research I came to the conclusion that the Cooper AT3 XLT had the right balance of gas mileage and look. Thought I had seen that the 275/70R18 was the max you could fit without rubbing on the stock Tundra but clicked the link for the “max size” thread and discovered this size may require some trimming. What’s the consensus on trimming for this size tire on a stock tundra? Any tips/pointers?

I had that size on before lift, but RCI skid. They didn’t rub but may rub on factory skid. In which case you can bend up skid no problem.

I'm running this size. Stock TRD OffRoad (not the PRO) which is no different from other 4x4 Tundras except for type of Shock absorber and the presence of a skid plate. I have zero rub issues with my tires for 50K; BFG KO2s, if curious.

Love the tires. No rubbing. Only problem is.... now my tire pressure system doesn’t work. Anybody else had this problem? Any ideas?

Get new sensors with them? Your ECU is likely looking for the codes from the sensors in the old tires and can't find them. Either that or they programmed the wrong sensor codes in them. It's an easy job for a tire shop to pull the codes from your tires and put them into your ECU.

1000 miles in. Tires ride great. Couldn't be happier. But... truck sits for 10-12 hours. Then the first 2-3 miles I get a slight vibration in the wheel at 35-40mph. Then it goes away
Like completely goes away. Smooth sailing. My only thought is flat spots on the tires. Anybody else?

I think I've noticed it a few times, but doesn't seem consistent with how long the truck sits or temp that I can tell. I have noticed a slight vibration after a tire rotation, going to get the balance checked again. Thinking it was a wheel that was on the back, but now that it's on the front might be able to notice it more.

In your opinion; should I go get the balance checked? It's just odd to me because it all goes away in a few minutes and is good until the next day after it sits all night

If it goes away after a few miles I would say don't bother unless you get free checks, I would expect it to stay if there really was a balance issue. I think mine might actually be as I only noticed the slight vibration (that would go away) before the tires were rotated. Now it doesn't so I don't think it's flatspotting causing it.

Yeah, same here, except it's around 55, and after the truck sits for a few days, (I WFH). Kind of annoying, but otherwise, I like the tires.

That was my really my only complaint with the Coopers is they would flat spot on me after sitting over night. When I got rid of them they had around 22,000 miles on them and it took longer for them to drop the vibration once rolling as they wear. Not sure if it was something I was doing but I had them rebalanced 6 times thinking it was a weight issue, Moved them to aftermarket wheels and rebalanced on those 3 times. Finally threw in the towel and moved on from them.

I don't know what the magical number would be, but I have 50,000 miles on mine, still has a lot of tread left, and drive off-road just about every day (as can be seen from the gouges in my tread). They still perform very good.
