So I took out the AC control unit to change out the chrome pieces. Guess I did something to the LED screen because when I put it back in it was all screwed up. Not sure if it hit something or flexed it too much or over tightened a screw. Still works fine but looks like shit now.

I can’t find the board and led screen online, only the whole assembly. Anyone?

That display is now hosed as in not repairable. Functional, but looks like cr*p now. Sorry. If it was LCD then usually fixable but a tweaked LED display needs to be replaced. Looks like it's flipping you the bird!

LCD's can get a funky display similar to that but usually caused by dirty conductive rubber elastomeric contacts that when cleaned brings the LCD display back to normal. Even LCD's can be non repairable if tweaked the wrong way. A birth mark look issue is usually.........................:(

Yeah, I’ll have to change the interior board which the led screen is attached to. I just can’t find that piece only. I can’t only find the whole thing with the controls and everything.

it might as well be flipping me off. I want to kick my own ass now.

Thinking about buying the Phoenix head unit with built in AC controls. If I do I'll give you mine. Still trying to figure out how to get xm radio on it.

Dang, that’s horrible, I’d be very upset if I was in your position right now. I know it might be easier said than done, but I’m sure that if you’re patient, this will work itself out. Hopefully someone who has changed out their head unit to one of the Tesla style units will donate/sell you theirs.

The only thing holding me back is lack of xm radio. I don't want the stand alone screen for xm like they suggest, I want it built in.

Recall that old saying about in every dark cloud is silver lining.

Well, the silver lining is that this is just a reminder to me to not mess with my truck beyond simple stuff like putting in a bed mat, changing out floor mats and the like. This is the kind of stuff that has happened way to often to me in that past when cars were much less complicated. Blown fusible links, broken clips, lost parts, etc.

Luckily I really like my new truck and the only changes I plan to make is installing door still protectors, having clear protective film installed on the front (ie clear bra), and maybe a few decals on the back window.

I hear you. I’ve done a lot to my truck myself. This one seemed pretty straight forward. I just did something and hit the screen I guess. I’m not sure how it happened.

I certainly wouldn't let this slight problem dissuade me from Modding my Tundra. Sh*t happens sometimes, learn from your mistakes, fix it, and consider it a lesson learned. I would be pissed too, but how could you know this would happen from just removing it from the dash. Good luck Wes, I'm sure someone here will hook you up.

Your truck is a 2021. I’d go to the dealership and say something weird happened to the screen. Just don’t mention you changed anything lol

Who’s to say it was the OPs fault? They may or may not fix it. The worst they can say is he has to pay. I’d sleep just fine asking but that’s just me

he said he guesses it was something he did. He didn’t do anything obvious that caused the screen to go out.

When my battery died, my radio stopped working. I took it to Toyota, they took it to the back and fixed it and said don’t worry about it free of charge.

It’s service like that which keeps me loyal to Toyota.

I would definitely take it to the dealership and just be honest with them and you might be surprised. They also get paid for warranty work plus this might be something they’ve seen before and could’ve been just a coincidence.

Just shifting blame, and somehow justifying passing it on to the dealership, who will pass it on to the Tech, who will get paid next to nothing to fix something somebody else screwed up. Simple, get it?
