Unfortunately they're in Ohio and I'm in Connecticut at the moment. I'll post some pictures next time I visit. Used the boil/pressure washer method. And bleached em with the wife's hair bleach. :D

Gun show today at the local expo center. I put a down payment on this beauty that I’ll be picking up next month. Didn’t necessarily plan on getting a flintlock today, but I’ve been wanting one for many years and I couldn’t pass this one up. It’s gorgeous. I’ll be (carefully) hunting with it during muzzleloader season this Nov.

    For my fellow Virginians.

Next year will have the state’s first official elk hunting season!

2021-2022 regs just dropped yesterday. I’ve been foaming at the mouth for months waiting for an announcement on a potential elk season ever since they announced it was being considered.

It’ll be a lottery. Good luck to everyone that applies. Finally, my elk hunting rig might be put to its original intended use!

To say I’m excited is an understatement. From what I’ve read in previous DWR statements, it’ll be a week-long season. You choose when you apply if you want to hunt archery or gun. Hunt will take place within the 3 counties that make up the elk management zone.

Application submissions will be in Feb 2022. More details from DWR in Dec.

Thanks. It was either a case of deer spooking or negligent shooting in my opinion. At the angle it entered it was definitely attempting an ass shot or head shot.

It really pisses me off when I hear of people taking terrible shots like that. I’m sure you’ve seen photos and videos of deer running around with an arrow sticking out of its neck, with a freaking field point on the end of it. People like that need to be thrown in jail, and have their hunting privileges banned for life.

Agreed. It's just irresponsible. Gives good hunters a bad name. Lots of people already don't like us hunting, don't need to add fuel to the fire.

Lets not jump to conclusions here about other hunters and ETHICS!! This shot could have been a good aim, possible deer dropped at release , and if angled just right it would have been a quartering away shot . I've had a few deer drop at release , and shot goes a little high , or could have been a branch or deflected some how . We don't need to go bad mouthing fellow hunters without knowing all the FACTS. It's bow hunting and alot of things can happen with an arrow. I'm sure , or I hope, the hunter felt really bad at the miss. Support our fellow hunters , don't feed hatred , I've missed and feel bad enough myself , and I've made good shots and lost some , The feelings still hurt just telling about them. Support each other , the hunt is hard enough..

I said it could have spooked/drop/ect. But around here, it's probably the latter. Trust me, lots of irresponsible hunters in my area and lots of poaching. I've seen it first hand too many times.
