Does anyone know which aftermarket alarms suit our trucks well?

Where I live we don't ever lock vehicles because of the low crime rate. I'm having a hard time getting used to locking when I walk away from it, and I'm getting a little nervous now that I have a decent sound system.

Any helpful experience based suggestions, or word of mouth suggestions would be great

Viper is always a big name, I had one on my GM. A lot of guys get the Fortin Evo bc of it's ease of installation. If I were to get another one, I'd go with a Viper w/2 way remotes

    Self installation?

I've never installed one and just started thinking about it today when I woke up and realized I left it unlocked

The Fotin, yes, most guys do the install themselves, apparently it is DIY friendly. Other alarms, i.e. Viper, can be installed yourself, it's just more involved and intimidating to tackle

I stand corrected, looks like the Fortin in just a remote starter that uses factory alarm.

If you go Viper get the remote start

Yet another reminder of Toyota's dumbassery
