Likely pulling the trigger this week...trading in my 16 Taco for a 17 Tundra. Haven't been happy with the Taco (cramped/uncomfortable seating, V6 lacking power, no AC vents in rear for kids...just to name a few ).

Here's what I'm looking at...:burnrubber:IMG_2872.PNG.jpg first mod will be TRD Pro grill and matching hood bulge.

Anyone out there traded up from a Taco? Happy with the change? Regretted the change?

When I traded my Tacoma for my Tundra I quickly forgot about my Tacoma, and I loved my 06 taco. You will love it!

Also a former Taco owner. I will always love the 1st and 2nd gens I had but the Tundra is a completely different beast. I wont be able to give up the room and especially the POWER

Welcome. I had a Taco once upon a time. I've been driving Tundra since '01 though and have been quite happy.

Owned 2 Tacomas ('05, '10) both before we had kids. Great tucks. Been in a Tundra just over a year and I'll NEVER go back! Tacos are great but to me there's almost no comparison! Get it!!

    Welcome.
I almost bought a Tacoma, I had all the paperwork done and was suppose to pick it up. I went with my father in law for a test drive in a Tundra and that changed my mind really quick. I am so glad I went with the Tundra.

The one difference I think you will really notice from tacoma to tundra is the gas mileage. You didn't have to worry about how hard you were in the gas in the tacoma.. it almost felt like it got the same gas mileage no matter what lol. But the Tundra you will see a difference and may even get to watch the gas needle move on its own for once! haha just be prepared because some of us with heavy foots were not. Its definitely an adjustment, good or bad will be your decision. Good luck!

Honestly no one is buying a tundra for the gas milage Im coming from a GMC 5.0 that was getting around 17 MPG to a Tundra 5.7 that might get 12-13. For me the power upgrade while giving up a little MPG was a no-brainer, But either way good luck on your choice

Same reason I did the same, among others on here....
I traded primarily for the engine size and obnoxious shifting at my higher than normal elevation. I couldn't be more excited with the increase in power.
You're in the right place now! WELCOME

Welcome from AK. Another Tacoma ex-pat here. I didn't trade mine in, my wife drives my 2010 Tacoma now. Used to love that truck, now I don't miss it at all. Definitely get the 5.7, and the bigger gas tank if you can.

Check another for going from a Tacoma to a Tundra. The 5.7 is a godsend after that gutless 3.5

yeah, the 5.7 is not a Prius but it really isn't too different than most real world numbers the other full sized trucks are getting. Having a bullet proof, extremely ballsy engine is worth the mpg hit compared to a gutless Taco.

Another former Taco owner here. Loved my Taco but there is no comparison to the Tundra. As many others have said, you won't regret making the upgrade.
