    Greetings all!

Retired Army, longtime Ford owner, saw the light and joined the Tundra Club. Picked up a 2018, 1794 Edition Black, with really low mileage. It has taken a little bit to get used to some of the differences, but all in all I love the truck. Miss the keypad entry but I'll survive. I also wish it had a little more zip in the throttle. Considering a pedal commander or bully dog option to improve it.

The Premium JBL system is crap. I've spent some time researching all of the wiring and I'm currently working on bypassing the factory JBL amp. I've done a test run using an LC7i and a modified wiring harness connection out of the amp and got it to work. However, I had a revelation that I could tap into the signal on the J41 and save myself some wire. Just took me a bit to figure that out. Hopefully, I can get it worked out this weekend and post some photos of what I did. I guess the great part about the crap sound is that I've learned a ton from the forum and TIS.

Will do. I have 5 acres near Ft Garland that I'll be hitting a lot this summer but I need to head up there if time permits. Hopefully the fire season will not be like last year.......

That's a coincidence. I was just reading something about Kit Carson.

Amen to that. Last year sucked.

Welcome from the sticks of Idaho! I ran with a V-6 Tundra Access Cab base model for 18 years, then test drove a 2015 Crewmax. All over. Traded-in 45 minutes later. A leather interior? An automatic? A V-8? I'd rather have this 1794 than any current luxury car, cause it is one.

Kit Carson's last official command. He was brought in to quell entercine warfare between the tribes in San Luis Valley. Went just fine for awhile but most of the Indians ended up on the infamous Trail of Tears that started there later. After Carson's time there was over, a lot of Buffalo Soldiers served there. Had to suck for them.

I'm curious as to where @mountain dweller resides here in this great state of Colorado!

Yeah, my hearing sucks too! However this JBL System is so bad. I ran a test the other day and pulled out the JBL sub. Stereo seems a bit louder. I made 4 mini harnesses a M and F J142 and Male and Female J143 running the outputs into a cheap pioneer amp and it definitely make the system sound somewhat better less the bass. After that test I made some long M/F J142 and 143s so I could put it all behind the back seat. Then after reviewing the all of the wiring diagrams again though heck can I just pick up the output from the J141. I think I can pick up 3 sets of signal that way. Haven't tried it yet. However, I did take a J141 extension harness (had all wires 1-24 on it) from a FAST-8113 - FAST Interface for Toyota-Lexus JBL Amplified System ordered from wallymart and tapped into what I think are the output sources and will use the acc line to connect the remote wires through. I have limited time so I've been trying to get things done in short bursts. I definitely do not want to cut or tap into any of the factory wiring which is why I am using these other homemade harnesses. Once I get the the baseline stuff installed we'll see how it sounds and then I'll look at speaker replacement options.
