Android Auto Wireless

I know there's another thread about android auto wireless, but this one is about a specific device. Has anyone ordered and received one of these?

I was waiting until there were some reviews posted about it before I ordered one. I checked the play store today and there are a bunch of positive reviews, so I went ahead and ordered one; should be in sometime in June.

I hope this is pretty universal. For 40 reviews and only 2 or 3 bad I'm hoping it would be good too

 

Looking forward to the feedback. I may get this as well if it is able to auto-connect AA after a vehicle restart. My $1200 Kenwood isn't allowed to do so per Google design but maybe some generic dongle can do it. Fingers crossed.

But you still need to connect the device to the USB port. So what is the difference between connecting this device to the USB port or your phone to the USB port. Seems like a waist of $$$ to me. It's just another componant to fail or be a pain in the butt.

How does it work?
Simply connect the AAWireless box to your car's USB port and forget about it.

 

Yes but you can hide the device under your console. Its just easier to not have to plug it up each time. I like having my phone on my wireless charging arm rest personally and when I have to plug it up for wireless android I usually put it down out of sight.

Can be a pain on short trips but on long trips or vacation it wont be as handy I guess.

 

That's one way to look at it. Personally, I take a lot of short trips, and with this device I don't have to worry about connecting something every time I get in the car; I'll leave the AAWireless device plugged in and just connect wirelessly as soon as my system starts. My phone can stay in my pocket or on the console.

 

Just received my unit in the mail. Paired perfectly to my 2021 and even auto-switched to AA without me having to touch anything. Poked around a couple apps and I swear it worked The square is a little bigger than I would have liked, gonna have to find a good place to mount it. The cable it comes with could have been half the length, but it's solid. Super excited to start using this b/c I was always too lazy to use AA, now I can use it always!!

 

How long ago did you order?

 

With Android Auto you have to choose between using AA, or getting a fast charge. You can't do both at the same time.
The benefit of AA Wireless is that I can rapid charge my phone from 20% to almost full on a 20 minute commute using a super fast 2.0 charger. If it was wired ,the battery would barely charge in that short of a drive.

 

Which $1200 Kenwood do you own that doesn't support AA wireless?

I ordered relatively early on, back on Jan 7th. Looks like it will be a few months before anything new arrives from them.

 

Mike is supposed to ship next month. Happy to hear it worked well for you; I can't wait to set up and use mine when it comes in!

It is, as long as the unit has Android Auto

 

Funny I got mine on the same day. I had more issues installing than you did but I believe (not 100% sure) it was because my wifi was already connected to my

I changed a bunch of settings before I disabled autoconnect to dashcam wifi but its working now.
