    Haha!

Now we gotta build me a badass, LT trailer. No problem. I think @Spvrtan is working on something I can use....

Hahah. The trailer I built currently is 90% done and has independent suspension along with an offroad-ready tongue jack from an Australian company. I'm going to sell it once it's finished though and build a bigger one for larger toys. The current one is about 5' wide and 10' long inside the boxed area. I still need to add removable crossbars for a RTT.

When I first built the frame I tested it on the Mojave Road at ~60mph without any issues or breakage..

Those photos are old and it since then I added weather-sealed wooden planks as a floor, simple wall frames, a huge tool box on the tongue, and a dropdown ramp that ATVs can drive up..

Thanks for chiming in, Kris! Maybe it’s just me, but this thread is getting pretty entertaining with possibilities. :)

I love that first pic!! (but then I thought of my bedding after all that chasing truck dust all day.... I was relieved when I got to the part about it getting boxed in.

You could buy the timbren independent axle setup and be done. It makes the trailers at work ride very nice. I pulled one behind my little prerunner in our old parking lot and it hit the fish pond size potholes like they were nothing. It's pretty nice even if it is from Canada. I still need to get one behind my tundra to test some fun silt roads out towards Bonneville.

Oh Lord, are you running the haulmaster dd33 of whatever space coupler? Nice trailer by the way.

Isn't there an actual article on that somewhere? About how it's better to cut than lift?

How awful would it be to run 35s on stock gears for a year or two?
I need tires this year or I'd look into doing gears first.

I do a lot more freeway miles than trail miles...for now...and almost no in-town driving.

Depends how heavy the tires are and maybe how wide they are I think. I think you'll notice some sluggishness when passing cars or accelerating to highway speed, or going up strong grades. Probably not miserable but for sure noticeable.

But we need more guys on 35s, so go for it.

I have to decide if I'm ready to tub the front too.
Because I'm not doing a huge lift regardless of what tire I run. *I want a 2" lift, 2.5" max.

But really it's the tires themselves that concern me. IDGAH about cutting on any of my vehicles.

Thats the proper way to do it with minimal lift. I don't know how some guys run 35s without the tub job. I bolted my brothers 35s to my truck once for fun and as soon as I backed up and turned I was digging pinch weld. His wheels were not the best width or offset to be fair.

I wish there were more sizes available for 16" wheels.

    I just ordered 17x9 4.75BS.
I'm hoping with aftermarket UCAs, I can run them without spacers...and keep them off the frame. I'm thinking at this point, I order tires very last after the suspension is refreshed and the wheels get here to see what will realistically fit with the amount of work I'm prepared to do.
Plus I have some Jeep friends. I can likely score a used/torn 35 to mount up and check clearances to frame and body.
I really want 35s. But I am refreshing the whole suspension, bought wheels, and need to keep spending some money on things like food and 911s this year. I may yet puss out and do 33s to make my life easier and then tub, gear, and 35 in a couple years when the tires are due again.

Thats a pretty deep backspace, you'll want UCA for sure. With 17s there are a lot of options, I wouldn't shy away from a 34x10.5 if I had 17s. Just tell people they're 35s, nobody will check.

Reminds me of this scene hahaha

Yeah, I would have rather had 4.0BS. No one is letting me design wheels at this time tho.

I love Next Friday. Strong contender for best movie sequel of all time.

Whenever my dog sees a door closed in my house he freaks out and beats on it. Every time I hear "Hey! Who locked the f-ing door? I don't like locked doors around here!"

    No Leroy I'm bilingual there's a difference!

It's not really all that bad. Unless I'm driving 80 with wind or climbing a hill on the freeway I wouldn't really know the sluggishness isn't normal. Some days it's windy and I need to just slow down to around 75 and put it in 4th.

Tubbing will make it easier. I didn't document mine very well, but I recall just cutting into the area that stuck out most and cutting reliefs and then bending it back onto itself and tacking/ welding it. I then used a bunch of construction adhesive. Seems to be holding up fine. I didn't want to do that whole cut a huge section out and make a filler piece bull.

Depending on your rear setup you might hit the flares. Cut them or pull the bedsides out like desert guys do. One of these days I'll get to one of those options.

That gives me something to think about. I don't mind cutting and pasting a bit in the wheel wells. I'm just not going to lift my truck as much as you have.
With regards to the rear flares, I can't justify removing them (front and rear) if I don't have some sweet meats under them. ;)

I'm not actually sure my truck is lifted. The back is sagging under the weight of the shell and with age and it's slightly lower than the front. My front flares are just cut with my bumper and it looks lifted. The tires make it taller too.

I did not want to do alot of cutting when I had my 35s on the ..so I did the uca's bilstein coilover ,dever spring set up in the with bilstein shocks and 2in lift body ,488 gears like 18 years ago on the truck ..it worked ..back in is pretty high ..kind hard for my sin to get his dirt bike in the back ..so thinking about losing the back a bit ..and only running 33s now . Also I have fiberglass front fenders
