Toyota does in fact install liners at the factory.
    See video below:
    https://youtu.be/0Ow4lHCbvTo
If your liner has the TUNDRA logo on the front wall, it was done at the factory. If it does not, it was installed at the port or aftermarket.

I asked my dealer about the rear hooks not being sprayed, he said it was to allow the removal of the hooks if you want to install the bed extender.

Cool. I stand corrected. It used to be only port or dealer option.

Does anyone have any experience in DIY spray liner touch up?

I’m currently waiting for my truck....ETA is next week. So I can’t confirm that my truck will come with or without the liner behind the rails.

So I may have to do deal with this....my truck has the ordered/port spray-in liner. I intend to install a Bakflip MX4 tonneau cover that comes with the brackets to drop the rails to accommodate the cover.

I’ve seen some roll-on and spray liners on Amazon.

    Suggestions and/or advice pretty please

If you save 16 oz of bed coating on 100,000 plus units you are probably rewarded with a bonus. Damn corporate world is just crazy nowadays and the consumers get screwed.

Yes, Line-X will almost always remove the bolts to spray. But they never do at the Port. That's why I was looking for a non sprayed truck when I was buying my last Tundra, but I couldn't find one. So I basically had to cut a big circle around the bolts when I had to remove my bed. It's so stupid.

You are giving Corporations too much credit, they don't cut checks to associates for cost down ideas that are 1 hit wonders. Associates were compensated hourly for their work/ ideas.
You earn "Points" that after 20+ years or earning has the potential to add up to get you a free base model compact vehicle when you retire.

Well, you learn something new every day! That's actually pretty cool that they do it on site, right off the line.
I guess when you have a whole team of folks working in that building the prep time goes way down.
