I specifically looked for a column shifter. We have grandkids that love to sit in the middle in the front row. With the seat folded down, you still have a center console. I personally don't see any disadvantage with a column shifter vs a floor shifter. It's all personal preference.

Floor shifter...I don’t want nobody sitting that close to me while I’m driving unless they are providing a service to me.:censored:

Almost bought a column shifter, but decided we needed the extra storage space over the extra seat.

I almost bought an RCSB with captains chairs and a floor shifter, but ended up buying an RCSB with a 40/20/40 bench and a column shifter. I prefer the column shifter, the added floor space, and 3rd seat / storage. Another column shifter plus is driving in S-mode, you just toggle + / - using your thumb.
