What should I ask

Thinking about selling my 18 Sport Crewmax. 11,500 miles 7inc BDS 22x12’ and 35’s. Custom stereo with sub box and two amps. All items professionally installed by the best in my area. What should I ask for it?

 

Did you try Carvana or CarMax? They are paying top dollar right now.

 

Yeah, Carvana is a good place to start. Also, check ads on similar vehicles in your area to see what they are going for.

 

Yea the offer was 42k. That’s 500 less than what I paid for it including taxes and fees.

 

Do you still have the original tires/wheels? And can you removed most of the stereo equipment without making the “system” inoperable? Unfortunately you are going to take a bath on the aftermarket add ons. And unfortunately not many people are going to pay that kind of money for a private sale (not because the vehicle isn’t worth it...). So you are locked in to a Carvana or dealership. I would try to remove those items and sell them.

That’s a good price...I just traded in my 16 Corolla because of that. I put 30k on it and drove it for two years. I paid 11.5k and they gave me 10k and the car needed 1.7k in front end work.

 

Vehicles that are heavily modded tend to go for less than stock ones, that and maybe carvana and carmax are getting wise about not overpaying for used vehicles, that's all I can think of for the carvana offer.

I know about the aftermarket stuff. I’m not taking anything off. I know I’m going to lose money on the parts, etc. I think I can sell it to a private seller , may take a a little while, but people do buy trucks that are modified. I guess I need to make a decision and go for it.
