The X5 gets over 30mpg and is AWD. Honestly, I think I’d have kept the Seq if it was 4wd. When I bought it, I didn’t need 4wd and now I do. The MPG will be nice as well. It’s a diesel so it was an absolute unicorn to find with the options I wanted.

4wd is definitely a must. Especially suv. The 30mpg will be sweet.

Thanks man, any idea of a starting point for pricing mine? It's got all the features of a new one but is much older so there are no comps that I have seen.

Good Luck with the X5 It's definitely one of my favs and good looking vehicle. But MB GL350 Bluetec diesel is the way to go after bulletproofing. My BNW trained mechanic friends dont even drive BMW.

I considered the GLs as well but like the BMW fit and finish much better. The F15 model really nailed down the reliability on the Diesel engine as long as you monitor or delete the emission parts (just like any other diesel). My fingers are crossed for a trouble free ride but only time will tell.
Sure, it comes with a few other parts as well (parts that resemble an entire vehicle). lol. Keep hunting on Ebay, they come up pretty often. I searched daily and as I found one, I just lowballed the sellers until I had a pair.

I was on the opposite side. Had an E70 X5 and sold it after I bought the Sequoia. X5 is a lot more fine to drive and the power is great but Sequoia has so much more room and comfortable for everyone. MPG on the Sequoia sucks but that's just a minor cost since the X5 takes premium and premium is a good 50-60¢ more than regular.

In April I paid 23k for a 2013 125k 4X Limited. Used market is crazy right now. With all your mods & in perfect condition, I'd say 21k is a good starting point.

I also went the other way, I had a 2006 e53 X5 4.8. Loved it but when things started to break at 120k I traded it in.

That is a gorgeous X5, enjoy!

Well....guess who's back! I had the Sequoia posted for a couple of months on FB Marketplace with very little interest. Most people scoffed at the age of it and made ridiculous low ball offers, even though it looks like a brand new $60k truck! Fast forward to now, I will be departing this location next spring and no longer need a AWD. Honestly, the kids and wife like the sequoia way more than the BMW (mostly due to size and comfort) so we decided to sell the BMW and keep the sequoia. For some reason, when I made this decision, I felt at peace:). Also, the BMW forums suck compared to this one!

So, here we go again. Planned upgrades
    -10.1" Pioneer NEX receiver (WT8600NEX)
    - Possible birds eye view 360 camera system
    -????, any suggestions?

We upgraded to the WT7600NEX, it's perfect. I looked at the 8600, but it was too big.

Is it really a G for that? What price can you find it for?

We had the opposite opinion. We looked at both and didn't feel like the 7600 was that much of an upgrade in size to the stock size. The oversized floating screen looks like it belongs in our 2018.

Yea, prices for these are high. Add in the Maestro and various harnesses, you're looking north of $1,500.

Yup, be prepared to drop at least $1400 with the maestro and the required T01 harness. That's not including an HDMI cable and the USB C cable as well.

Do you guys have pics of your receiver set ups? I’m not 100% committed to the 8600 at this point. The 4400 that I have now is decent but it leaves a lot to be desired compared to the BMW screen. Also, how is the brightness on these units compared to the resistive screen of the 4400. Thanks !!

I have had Pioneer NEX72,78 & 8000 in three different vehicles. They sounded and worked great but they all got dust behind the screen covers that could not be removed. love my Kenwood DDX9906XR. It is great. No need for NAV anymore. Google maps over wireless carplay is perfect.

I have been leaning toward having my hood bulge painted silver and the inset also but I like your all white.

That kenwood looks sweet but I’m looking for one of the larger screen models. The 7” pioneer is just too small compared to the 10.25” BMW one I was used to using.

As far as the bulge and surround, I am partial to the color match. It looks a bit incomplete, or like a work truck model with the all black.

I just returned that exact kenwood model to crutchfield from my 2020 sequoia as it constantly restarted and was buggy. Was not worth it.

Good to know! I’m actually starting to lean towards the joying or Dasaita ones for the cost difference!

I’ll be following you on the whole truck paint job. Would love to know how much that costs as I’d like to do the same once my kids are older and the scratch risk goes down. Matte black perhaps. What color are you thinking?
