Just knowing toyota for their reliability, I’m curious as to what the most problematic issues arise from the tundra

216k and tow my 8k camper regularly, and I don't drive my truck lightly at all. Zero problems here. At the end of every toyota assembly line, they have a voodoo witch from the swamps of Louisiana casting reliability spells on all the vehicles. @hagrid could tell you more about this phenomenon if you're interested.

Tundra's are far from reliable, not sure where you heard that at.

About the only things I've seen that is a problem that's not all that common, is the weeping cam towers, not enough to even leak on the ground, and won't hurt anything to run it like that, alot of people just leave it weeping if they are out of warranty. Other than that you'll have problems here and there with a vehicle from any model, some will give you problems from the start, some will never give you problems. The tundra has a great track record for being reliable, and if you read through this forum you'll see if someone does have a problem, its usually a one time kind of thing.

I have a 2017 TRD off road Crewmax with 54000 miles and cringe about the cam tower leak issue. I found myself checking the rear valve covers, underneath them at the cam cradles to see if I had a leak, or any residue. Even went underneath the truck to ensure there was no oil leak on the manifold. So far both passenger and driver side look dry. Ugh, I left my Ford F-150 to get away from the paranoia. Hope this leak doesn’t appear in the future.
