Wondering what the best way to clean and protect the bakflip cover?

Saw the post on possible issues with cerakote. Wondering if there are other recommendations?

    Thanks.

I’ve tried just about everything I can think of on the Bakflip, and nothing holds up. Nothing wants to bond with it. Superior Cover All works well, but only lasts a couple of weeks before having to do it again.

I did one spot on the Bakflip on my old truck with Cerakote, and after 7-8 months that spot is still going strong. You’ve obviously read how my attempt to do a whole one turned out. Don’t know if it was because I screwed it up from the start, but it just hasn’t panned out.

The only thing I haven’t tried is a ceramic coating on it. At this point, I may eventually give that a shot.

I have ceramic coated my last two tonneaus (both vinyl roll ups) with awesome results. They bead water and don't hold dirt. Just my .02

Good to know. It’s the only thing I haven’t tried. I do have some CQuartz Lite I’ve yet to use, so maybe I’ll give that a shot.

I’ve had my mx4 for two years and it still looks brand new.

I just use car soap and water to wash it, then treat it with 303 to protect it from the sun. As far as the rubber portions of the cover, I use Honda Shin-Etsu grease. I also use Shin-Etsu on all the door seals and they look brand new and keep all the seals from drying out.

I like using 303 also because of its great UV protection.

Thanks. I've got some 303. Next wash I'll apply it and see how it goes.

I've kept mine conditioned with mostly Meguiars for several years now...keeps the shine and protects as well...
