My pillar posts are kind of faded and I know some of that is hard water, but should I paint these to get them back up to the right level of black? Or is there something else I can do?

You can peel that black vinyl off and it is the same color of the vehicle underneath or you can just wrap it with new vinyl.

I’m not 100% certain on a 2007, but on newer Tundras those are vinyl stickers. No joke, look at the back of the door where they wrap around and end. You can get Toyota replacements, or some people peel them off and don’t replace them since the factory paint is underneath.

I'll probably go for the locking fuel door next since gas prices are on the way up. Chrome pillar covers will be after that.

I’m a fan of peeling it off - breaks up the “monobrow” look of the windows

    Not nearly enough room here!
I replaced mine with these Carbon Fiber type from E-Bay. They fit really well and come off when needed.0516190743[3742].jpg Fond 'em by just doing a search for Pillar Trim.
