Well, then isn't "insanely windy" the standard condition? I cycled up to rock cut and was blown off my bike several times. And that was in summer.

Great park though. I loved that one.

yes, that would be accurate. yesterday was probably 20-30mph sustained. gusts had to be close to 50.

good for you for pedaling up to rock cut. it's quite a climb.

logging some studio time. contemporary dance company that i photograph quite a bit. their new show (poster up above) is based in the 1930s so they wanted to try and go that route with a portrait series.

Is that a little open-air restaurant you were at? That looks like the identical spot I have a pic of when I was there two years ago.

No it was at a large deck on the side of a mountain road. Like a scenic overlook point.

    Some stuff
in the last 3 months, i've put in close to 40k miles on united. feels like i'm back at the old day job. i've learned a lot on both the video and photo side of things. unfortunately, i can't share anything from the work i've done the past 3 months as i don't own the copyrights to any of it. makes finding my own clients a bit difficult but i'm hoping things will turn around after we move.

with all the traveling, i've tried to simplify my gear setups as much as possible. video is tough as there's just so much to bring but i'm getting back to basics on the photo side. it started with this marvel of german engineering.

    leica.jpg

i've been a leica fan boy for ages but never thought i'd be able to have something more than the little X2 pocket camera. there's magic pixie dust or something in these. very hard to describe but this camera forces you to view the world in a very different but specific way. the color and tonality is really like nothing else out there. this camera hasn't left my neck in weeks.

i took the youngest out for some halloween portraits and, while i had the big canon with me, i much preferred the images that came from the Q.

really looking forward to a little street shooting in NYC with this camera after we move.

speaking of street shooting. here are a few from some wanderings in Kingston, NY. these aren't from the Q though.

i'm simplifying a few other things and making a big push for high end work. some gear is getting sold and some gear is getting purchased. looking forward to all the new possibilities.
